The most irritating part of Church Religion' is the person who adopts the 'lifestyle'because it gives them some wealthy friends, it's just ridiculous. Then there are those who go to Church every Sunday, but are completely bigotted, eg to the RC's, if you come from Scotland you will know all about this 'partition'. Anyways, I all I want to do is to buy a phone, I don't know how I fell in to this thread.

I am always struck, when reading on a range of religions, how the basic message is very similar. Rog Hi I'm your shaman, priest, mullah. Give me a tithe and do as I say. The great god says so.

I've made up my mind there is no Supreme Being, I realise that upsets some people, but they need to get over it, and not bring up the subject when I have not 'engaged' in their conversation. The trouble is that if we don't believe in a Supreme Being we are left witn Xi Jinping, Trump, Boris or Nick.

I don't believe in supreme beings and am without religion... I respect those that choose to believe in something - my choice is to believe in people. My references to the bible, is merely to use it as a tool to understand choices we make and perhaps point us towards making better ones... ONCE I take the "god bothering" aspect out of the equation, all that is left is Humanity.... that's ALL we've got really.

If you must have a god, I like the view that everything is god. But I don't believe that all or any of the philosophical thinking claimed to be "from god" that forms the foundations for religions needs a religion, originated in a religion or is their practical primary focus. That's not to say it's all bad, just pointless and unnecessary.

I prefer the word 'love' but that can get confused with the words 'sex' and 'drugs' apparently. The thing is that we have a handfull of areseholes who say we can't give our loved ones a hug EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE SAID THEY WANT TO TAKE THE RISK. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG HERE....

If you want people on average across the population to do 5 things - you tell them to do 10 or 20 and hope for the best? For everyone doing exactly as asked/told there is a Mr Stabby and every shade between. Everything is balance so for you - go and hug your loved ones. Personally I do as I please at the final judgement. If I really object to something I have always been able to circumvent it. Obviously finding a pub that's open is a bit tricky but I bet I know where there's one that never shut and has the ashtrays out full time now.

The people running the show can't live a 'normal' life due to security restrictions. So just maybe, just maybe, they are a bit pissed off that they can't enjoy life like the 99%. Maybe we've just reached a point in time where we ALL have finally realised that greed...sorry... meant money isn't the route to happiness..

And Boris is like "So long and thanks for all the fish"
Sorry I was just trying to predict a tabloid head line for beginning of next year.

I still think, setting up field hospitals to use the "non- covid-specific " medical staff being underused to administre steroids/do obs/plonk on oxygen masks/cpap machines etc would be a better use of the "money" in the system than printing money to extend furlough

Furlough looks suspiciously like a scam to get well paid middle class idiots to continue with their spending habits while introducing them to the "maybe you don't have to go to the bloody office" situation.
The .gov support packages do not seem to be well balanced but it is worth noting that it is a Tory government obviously looking to be re-elected by means other than the opposition being completely pointless.
It could just be the modern interpretation of the old Thatcher homes for votes scam.
