The missus did a good job of it John, no Yorkshire's though, and we had to be careful with the gravy. We are bow up by about 2ft and listing sideways by about a foot. So it's getting tiresome now. Still it's only 6 days so far.

Yes it looks like the "Repaired" breach is failing. I was sent that video taken this morning. I asked him if there were any staff there, he said "No". I have phoned the CRT emergency number and told them it might be worth a look. I've also messaged the local MP who is already pretty fed up with CRT. It looks like we will be sat on the bottom for a fair while longer. I've just looked at that video clip, . . . and I can't believe what I'm seeing ! What in God's name possessed them to drop those 1 Tonne bags in the hole instead of in the canal, hard up against the piling, and a few yards further along, . . where they would be right over the top of the culvert, where I think the canal bed has blown out under the shorter piles directly above it ? ONLY the C&RT would try to stem a flow of water through a hole by putting something over the pressure side of the hole instead of the suction side where the pressure differential works in your favour. What do these people use for brains ? I can't be absolutely sure, but I reckon that at one time there was probably a run-off weir under those slabs of concrete that the water's coming out from under, and that it would have discharged straight into the dyke/drain that runs through the culvert.

They started back to work on the breach Monday and made significant progress, still leaking but at a reduced rate. I understand they were there again Tuesday. The levels started coming up on Monday night and have continued to do so. Perhaps another day to get the levels back to normality. Goole Docks are back to work. What a week!

Tony you may have read that Sheffield basin had a leak, it was "repaired" at vast cost, yet it still leaks! You could not boil them as soft!

Yes Patty there's a Local Drone group who are keeping an eye on the breach, and it's a good job they are, they've just been down to it and it's leaking badly again. CRT have been informed. We have dropped about 8".

The breach "repair" has gradually failed. The canal levels did come up at first, but was still 12-16 inches below normal. Levels have dropped again in the last couple of days so we are about 18-20 inches down. The emergency stop gates have been closed to protect the docks since the breach 15 days ago and have continued to leak. Pumps are still trying to keep the levels up in the docks but are not succeeding. The docks therefore have been stood until a few days ago when they started operating a reduced service. This morning I backed the boat further away from the bank to counteract the increasing list, and we are now using a gang-plank to get ashore.
The CRT are apparently back on site today at the breach, and looking at various solutions.

The CRT are apparently back on site today at the breach, and looking at various solutions. For C&RT's senior management, and the so-called 'engineers' directly involved in orchestrating this pantomime, . . the ancient Japanese culture of ritual disembowelment - Hara-Kiri - seems to be one rather appropriate option available to them.
