I shop at Morrisons because it's closest and it's ok but I don't know any other supermarket which runs out of lines as often and at all times of day, their supply chain is obviously a load of poo.
When I was in Benfleet the Morrisons was ace ......... then they got a new manager and the standards bottomed .... It's probably not the supply chain, it's probably the ordering
Yes it's probably the ordering, had this issue with Tesco in Boston. Every week I shopped after a late shift on a Tuesday and they never had any Edam, I tackled the manager about this and his response stunned me " oh of course we always sell out quite early in the day as it's very popular" I suggested that they might sell even more if they upped their order. He thought about this for a moment and said "You might be right, I'll give it a go" The next week there was Edam Phil

I heard the reason they call them battery hens is because they spend their lives in a space the size of the average car battery. No idea if that's true or if I made it up. I don't think so, more like batteries of cages which are stacked. Feed is dropped in front of them, while the poop drops through the floor bars. I believe there are now regulations on cage dimensions, and in theory they should be able to stretch their wings. UK RSPCA welfare advisories. Food from abroad is a different matter. I never eat Danish bacon for example, or pate de foi gras. Pate de foi gras rocks. Best served with champagne and oysters. Yum yum.

Oddly enough I've always preferred Morrisons... I'm lead to believe they have some kind of active policy to employ older/more mature people. I'm not sure how they get around it these days with all the equal op rubbish from HR/Personnel depts - perhaps they cheat when doing the calculations....
Whatever they do, they DO seem to manage to get good "older" staff - especially on the checkouts to deal with "people".
When I'm organised enough I TRY and get deliveries to the boat between guest handovers - epecially when there would other wise be a long walk involved (nantwich springs to mind) cause it can save me 4 -6 hours (given limited carrying ability even with the sholly) of my 'day off' - THUS far, Asda and Waitrose have been the best at finding the boat from instructions from the nearest road.
For those trying to shop at home but struggling to get hold of delivery slots, It's worth joining Amazon Prime at the moment as they seem to have some deal with Morrisons to scoop up a lot of slots .... my mate Simon has been using these for months to get his stuff delivered to avoid visiing "zombie-land".
