Its not 'thunderboat' that's boring... it's all our lives at the moment... it's hard to find motivation to make plans or complete/begin outstanding projects with so much negativity at every angle.
Most (if not perhaps all) the usual things we like to do to create some endorphins are still on hold - with no definite end in sight... all of us are having endless circular conversations with anybody we are lucky enough to interact with about the big c and the complete shambles globally. Going for a walk in the sunshine helps me a little but not much - my brain wanders off to thoughts of sitting in a beer garden/on the towpath drinking and chatting and eating and being merry. As over priced as the cinema is, today I just wanted to "go"... seeing all the faceless eyes hiding behind masks is dehumanizing us all as we 'sheeple' around...
It's not even as if folks can make reliable plans for anything in 2021 - and even if they could (myself included) the sword of Damocles remains poised to swing/drop at any point and there's bugger all we can do about it.
No - Thunderboat is not boring - it's the lack of "stuff" going on in all our lives which leads to an apathetic slump. The car forums I follow are pretty much the same too.
In vague boaty news, I'm awaiting the delivery of some usb strings of leds to run under the gunwales - 2 warm white and 2 bright white strings of 100 each... my excitement is palpable!

Tony you are a twat. Your contributions are some of the most repetitive and boring. So why do they invariably and quickly succeed in attracting your vacuous attention ?

I think that is a good summary of how most of us feel at the moment. It's nearly all doom and gloom and little hope for the future. I think the psycolgical aspects to this are potentially going to be far more damaging than anything else. Our government know this of course. So lets try to stay positive and as my old friend Ted said to me years ago..."don't let the buggers get you down!"...

Has thunderboat got boring? Not so very long ago you and a some of your fellow invertebrates were complaining, and predicting, that TB was going to be shutdown by the C&RT's rogue elements because they were finding some of the content anything but boring ! Why the sudden change of heart ? I take it you do realise that neither CRT or the legal profession work at this time of year? Let us know what the next communication says and we will tell you how best to deal with it. Whether you choose to listen to the advice is up to you. But had you been prepared to listen to the common sense advice you were given in 2019 then Halcyon Daze wouldn't have been towed away. I don't want to kick a man while he is down but you really are as thick as two short planks.

For the second year running we will have no firm cruising plans - by now thoughts would be turning to what weeks to book as holiday, getting in touch with our favoured marinas on the Great Ouse to arrange short term moorings, a look at tide tables, a phone call to Salters Lode for a new year chat and a pick of brains. None of which will happen as there is just too much uncertainty as to whether our best made plans will end up smashed to bits just like 2020βs π’ Once upon a time it was the risk of the river going onto flood that would bugger your plans up, now itβs Matt Hancock, Chris Whitty and their cohort of canaries down the mine to trump Mother Nature.

I disagree with the last part because the aim all along was to have the boat towed away. It would have been a bit thick to have got the boat removed after all the warnings if that was not the intended outcome but as it was the intended outcome I believe your suggestion lacks merit in this circumstance. As for the potential issue of Thunderboat being closed down I believe this showed the true colours of people who post on here.

If this was the case then I cannot understand the logic of complaining that the boat was eventually towed away. Perhaps I'm just not intelligent enough to understand the superior mental power in play here. Perhaps Richard Parry will be charged with fraud and theft, be fired from his job and serve a long prison sentence. Who knows?

Being a purveyor of 'blatently pointless content' since 2016 I'm afraid I'm fairly easily entertained, and never find thunderboat boring ... quiet sometimes ... but not boring. But there again, I quite like the chatty, daily routine, what some may call mundane type posts. I'm looking forward to Mr Stabby 's next bathroom faux tiles update, metanoia 's next update on her epic voyage to repairs, and quaysider 's update on his stern deck cushions. I even enjoy patty 's dog walking escapades, and reports on the river by @magnetman. Rog
