Whoβs going to be searching for the culprit? Wrong question, . . the guilty party has already been identified. What isn't yet known is how long it will take for HM Courts & Tribunals Service to identify the Court staff who were involved.

October 22nd to February 6th so that's about 3 and a half months between removing boat from mooring and selling it. "Halcyon Daze" was NOT "removed" from its mooring, . . as would be lawful under S.8(2) of the 1983 Act, . . provided it could be shown to be a "relevant craft" as defined under S.8(1) of the Act. "Halcyon Daze" WAS forcibly "seized" and taken to an undisclosed destination against the wishes of its owner/occupier by bogus Bailiffs acting NOT with the authority of or at the behest of any Court, but for and directly under the instructions of the C&RT. In the eyes of the law, there's a distinct and significant difference !

I can't wait to see you get one over on cart, hope it isn't before the end of lockdown, it would make a good TB outing π

That's quite a collection of other peoples property they've got there. A short while ago you mentioned that a friend of yours had bought one of C&RT's 'seized' boats from CBS. Do you happen to know where the boat was first seen advertised ? CBS used to have their own page on the Boats & Outboards brokerage website, but I think there could have been some changes to the arrangement back in 2017 after someone made Boats & Outboards aware of the dubious claims to ownership and good title regarding most of the stuff CBS were advertising for sale.

I think they now advertise them using an individuals name through sites such as Apollo duck etc

I'm not sure where it was advertised. I can ask him about it. I did mention this discussion to him with reference to the potential "good title" discussion but he seemed pretty confident that it was all above board. I was concerned about the personal effects remaining on the boat, which included paperwork which one could use to identify the vessel owner and in this case their criminal status. That's well dodgy. Unfortunately there was no gold bullion on that boat otherwise I would have reported it.

I have been keeping an eye on it since 2018.. I went to look at a couple of boats at that time. Interesting place. There will be a narrowboat coming up for sale soon.

Thanks for the link, . . although it doesn't look as if there's much activity around that webpage. Not updated since 25 March last year, and still talking about being contractors to British Waterways.

Could you please ask him about what paperwork came with the boat at the time he bought it, . . proper Bill of Sale with the seller's name and details, or just some half-arsed letterhead in the form of a receipt for a specific sum of money ? Thanks.

I found this bit is interesting "Please be aware that we sell boats that we do not know the history at all, ..." Other than the slight grammatical error it's quite interesting. Of course CBS/ part of Chester Boat Company are very much a partner of CRT as is shown on their webshite, specifically the cranage and transport part of it. www.commercialboatservices.co.uk/services/cranage-transport/And I'm like "no wonder they take the boats away by road. It's free money innit".
