Ah this topic has touched a nerve in the boating community that is represented here in the sweaty sweary hallowed halls of TB. I know nuffin about Lifeboat conversions but thought I'd join in the conversation(on here u don't need to be an expert to pass an opinion) Firstly..welcome...I do not go over the road so I haven't seen your posts... Secondly...with regards converting any boat it always works out far more expensive than initial guesstimates...There are many unloved disintegrating boats cluttering up our canals try not to add to them.... I tried to tell him that else where plus it will take at least three times as long as he thinks. I also listed the things that will need to be added for a reasonable life but apparently I am a troll. ultracrepidiarianismist ?
ps long time no see ..... hi !!!

Hopefully we have managed to scare him off. He doesn’t like it when people don’t agree and support him without question. I think your dress sense might have had something to do with it.

Note to other posters, you should look up the word “ultracrepidarian“ because it’s his favourite. certainly apt for some cwdf members. Ouch!

It's better than dude.Dude makes me want to punch something or someone... Agreed. “Dude” is also one of his favourite words! I didn’t need to look that one up though, I recall it from “Bill and Ted’s ..(whatever)” 1980s films. 90s film. Dude

Read a blog of two blokes who converted one and were sailing round the world with it. perhaps if OP managed to do that he would be accepted on the inland waterways under the historic boats category, otherwise it's a gurt big no-no.

Of course you are Tony, however you will also save him a load of pain and money converting something that will never be wanted by most boaters

I thought you meant for your narrowboat at first lol, I was thinking bit over precautionary and about to say 'well if it were me I'd go for an outboard instead - more fun'. You mean to convert don't you. Doh! Thinking that perhaps anything I say from now on will just be discounted, which is probably best. T.

Oh dear! Just read the other posts. TBS! You've been v naughty! You usually give such a warm welcome and sage advice - couldn't help yourselves hey. I stopped going on this other site because of how dreadful the people were, came here and love it, much better class of people you know! I'm with socks and a few others; make sure it's sound (or that you know what is wrong with it) and buy, your dream, make it happen if this is what you'd like. I love seeing different boats. Also like the thought of it being saved; although my opinions don't count. T.

Normally TB'ers are a bit kinder but perhaps in this instance posts written over the road have influenced the welcome here...
