We had planned to visit the boat next weekend, to check its all ok and grab a tv from it for use at home, unsure what to do now as the tv part is a non essential visit, but the checking of the boat for me is essential, I wonder if I did go and got pulled by the rozzers, would they believe me and let me proceed if I explained another boater had messaged me to let me know my boat was listing badly.. It looked fine when I passed on Christmas Eve. Your bilge pump was working exceptionally well. Can't comment on the TV, though.

Just make sure you are all wearing hi-viz vests in the car and the Filth will think you are on some work-related activity and leave you alone.

I'm still kicking myself about not buying the "Tower Hamlets" hi Viz jacket I saw in a charity shop.
Also seen a BW sweater which I failed to buy and a "MOL" hi Viz waistcoat.
MOL seems quite official looking.

That alligator is on some pretty serious acid. It is an alligator by the way, not a crocodile as many people think, you can tell from the snout. Notice how he has one short arm and one long one, in order to carry shipping containers. And a cheeky wee tattoo.

The waitscoat I saw just had the letters MOL on the back. No logo.
I think it is a transport company but it could also be Museum Of London.

In transport it is "Mitsui OSK Lines", a Japanese transport company which is one of the largest movers of shipping containers in the world. Most people who drive any significant amount on UK motorways will see the alligator logo several times a day, probably without even noticing it. Sadly this iconic logo is being phased out now as MOL have been re-branded "Ocean Network Express" and all new containers carry this branding. Shipping containers generally have a fairly short life, firstly because of the damage they sustain in handling, and secondly because when the price of scrap steel rises beyond a certain amount it becomes more viable to load them with scrap from Europe, send them back to China and then melt the whole lot, container and all down for recycling.

Just spoken with the BSS Examiner who says he is obviously in close contact with CRT etc. He agrees that it would be an essential journey as long as we do not socialise with anyone, which we won't, because we need the certificate for our licence & insurance. He sent me an email to that effect to prove in case we do go and are stopped. I think in that I feel legitimate in making the trip.
