Biden will be the second Catholic President of the USA and we all know what happened to the first one. So he will be at the beck and call of a Socialist Pope. Way to go. I hope Biden listens and follows his example, starting with a cheap runabout car. When the J'ovahs and Mormons come knocking, I hear them out for a short while then tell them they don't stand a chance, I was inoculated with the Catholic faith. Who else remembers the Latin Mass as a kid?

I see Trump took off in airforce 1 to "my way"
from the guardian online - "In a painfully fitting end to his presidency, Donald Trump took off on Air Force One as Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” played on the tarmac."
Hopefully his end and final curtain are nigh!

For most it's just an (unfortunate) accident of birth.
Just out of interest I found the following, and the best bit is the last one:
The constitutions of the following seven U.S. states ban atheists from holding public office. These laws are unenforceable because they conflict with the First Amendment & Article VI of the U.S. Constitution: Arkansas Article 19, Section 1 : "No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office in the civil departments of this State, nor be competent to testify as a witness in any Court." Maryland Article 37 : "That no religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a declaration of belief in the existence of God; nor shall the Legislature prescribe any other oath of office than the oath prescribed by this Constitution." Mississippi Article 14, Section 265 : "No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office in this state." North Carolina Article 6, Section 8 : "The following persons shall be disqualified for office: First, any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God." South Carolina Article 17, Section 4 : "No person who denies the existence of a Supreme Being shall hold any office under this Constitution." Tennessee Article 9, Section 2 : "No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state." Texas Article 1, Section 4 : "No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office, or public trust, in this State; nor shall any one be excluded from holding office on account of his religious sentiments, provided he acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Being."
On the other hand an eighth state’s constitution affords special protection to theists!! :
Pennsylvania Article 1, Section 4 : No person who acknowledges the being of a God and a future state of rewards and punishments shall, on account of his religious sentiments, be disqualified to hold any office or place of trust or profit under this Commonwealth."

Does anyone know the logic behind it and if they go against the constitution, does anyone know why they are written into what I presume is state law?

Does anyone know the logic behind it and if they go against the constitution, does anyone know why they are written into what I presume is state law? To get local votes. There are a lot of things that get legalised in states but remain federal crimes so if the feds feel like it they can still plough in and nick people presumably for a wider political influence/audience. It's a bit nuts.
