It's a worry when folks live alone ... that's partially why I keep tagging metanoia in her epic journey to repairs ... particular with the cold snap we've had. Rog Thank you x

I'm glad you're Ok Vince (being alone on a boat does cause some concern especially this time of year). I'll give it a 10 out 10 flounce. Much better than my previous attempts.

Not half as excited as @froggy did though.
I felt a real tingle of fear/relief/joy/anxiety and excitement at the indication that Mrs Tabby had actually, in real life, been arrested for a blade incident with a woman of easy virtue.
But it turned out to just be a computer issue.
How boring.
Or is this just a cover story and the reason he is not posting because he is currently detained?

Well, that's disappointing - you'd got us all excited. Yes, sadly it was no more than equipment failure- something Shania often complains about- I'd been aware for some time that my lappy was starting to have issues but decided to hang on until I got the Blue Screen of Death which I eventually did. PC World and the like are just ludicrously expensive for laptops but you can get a brand-new discontinued Toshiba for £130 on ebay so that's what I did, just had to wait three working days for it to be delivered. So I was offline for the weekend but that was fine, a bit like the old days where you actually did stuff. I put a new spark plug in the Honda, cleaned and set the contact breaker points and adjusted the timing and now it's starting first kick and running really well, I've had an intermittent fault with the number plate lights on my car for over a year so I took that apart and re-wired it. Then I did a few bits of painting and varnishing around the boat, and changed the air filter on my generator etc etc etc. Now back to normal but thanks to everybody for their concern.

Any update on the bathroom ? Rog More or less finished now. I might paint the plinth the toilet cassette sits on but I think I will wait for warmer weather so it can dry outside the boat, the Lister engine enamel I use is hard-wearing but gives off some very noxious fumes when wet. I need to adjust the level of the basin very slightly and I need someone else here to help with that but it can wait until one of the boys can visit. But all in all it looks a whole load better and it cost under £100 to do.
