And I'm like "bloody hell!"
Isn't it.
What's going on here then.
Once upon a time it was new and exciting.
Now it looks suspiciously like a bit of a nightmare.
Needs sorting out really otherwise it will be a runaway event and the lid will blow off.
How does this story with "big tech" like facebook, google etc go? Do they just get bigger and bigger or will regulation come in?

I have to say Kris, like any tool, the internet is a double edged sward for everyone at all levels. The 'elite' love it because, as we can see at the moment, it's a great way to psychologically control the population. The 'rest' love it because we can keep the 'elite' in check by posting video's using our phones...only to find them censored... Well it's certainly made us worry about stuff we wouldn't have before the internet. Is that a good thing? Would the current Covid crap have gone so far without the internet?

And Trump. He was an internet president at the end of the day.
As previously mentioned he has no redeeming features at all but a natural con man will find the internet is like a dream come true.

I see you haven’t read the link I posted. A bit awkward to wrest control of the internet given the amount of money going around. It's a lovely idea to enable ownership but how will AWS feel about it? Ideally people should deliberately not buy anything that is advertised. This is what I was told as a kid. If there is an advert for it then you don't want it. I tell my kids the same but the advertisers are so devious they get right into people's brains. It's very damaging really, to people and the planet at the end of the day.

I see the message platform Signal has lots of outages yesterday due lots of peolle flocking over from WhatsApp due to Facebook moving them to their T&C's. I'm guessing it's to do with privacy?
I did the same when Signal started out, it's a good platform and relies on donations. I wonder how long it will be before facebook buy them out like they did with WhatsApp?
