Clamping of private land is illegal, except for the likes of dvla. I know it is, which is why I mentioned the changing of the law, Its becoming a real issue and a loss will have occurred if a vehicle cant charge, so I have read they are going to change it just for blocking EV charging points. As it is for most you will be fined as long as the signage is correct which has been the case for years. Going back. They can't fine you, no private body can. Regarding charging spots, I'm sure they just come under the normal conditions of the rest of the car park, which will need complying with. They need more than just correct signage to issue parking charge notices. Non land owners need the correct contract, the signage needs to be in certain places and legible, they need to follow the pofa 2012 legislation to the letter and many other things. Importantly most of them say you can't park there and then set out contractual terms if you do, you can’t contract to do something that is forbidden. so most signs are just rubbish. I like annoying them and follow thorough with the council making sure all their signs and anpr cameras comply with planning and advertising rules.

i don't think I fancy driving a long wheel base VW crafter and only he understands the spaghetti junction wiring system he's set up...its a real boys toy.. Plenty of mini campers around Patty, I had a Berlingo that had been converted it was great for one person and a dog, recently had a look at a mates ford courier which she had done it was superb Its something I'm really gonna do my homework on as cannot see travel abroad happening. I get itchy feet and just have to get out there...

They use penalty charge notices, if they can prove loss ie someone cant charge their car they can be fined in court, I never pay penalty charge notices because if there are lots of free spaces no loss has occurred, in this case especially if cameras are available they would most likely win, its just not worth the effort blocking a charging point and for what point?

What about if you are going to work, let's say you work and the supermarket with electric charging point(s) happens to be close to your office. You leave the car there. Very handy.
All day. 9 till 5 or whatever.
Useful for that person but it denies anyone who is just doing some shopping the use of the charging point during the daytime.
This actually happened to someone I know in Switzerland. Ok Switzerland is a nightmare country but the outcome was that someone arrived and found a vehicle left at the charging point then phoned the police to have the vehicle moved so they could charge their empty battery.

Lots of signage at these free charging points saying 95 minutes maximum by charging [for free] you agree to the terms and conditions whats the problem? Anyway I feel the need to go shopping and gather a bit of free electric now

We gave the free charging a whirl, plugged in loaded the app and confirmed free charging, went to Aldis first shopping then Tescos bought some half price big cans of WD40 bargain price honestly we then bought some take out coffees and sat in the car whilst it finished charging, Perfik 54 miles driving around today for free

Quite a good review of the vehicle
Probably an interesting second hand buy. Let someone else take the massive depreciation hit.
