Whilst I'm probably wrong. We brought a brand new car in Hampshire but it was given a Leicester plate as that was their head office and they dealt with register cars. Much to my disgust. Most of ours have been local reg - even the newer 51 on stuff. Odd one was our pre-registered Skoda Octavia, head office is MK so they use Northamptonshire area letters. We purchased it from Meadens in Sway with 13 delivery miles on the clock, no one else had driven it. Had to get the train down to collect it then drive it all the way back to Northamptonshire! I was specifically after a petrol 4x4 estate in a decent colour (Black Magic) - it was the only one available in the county at the time! Everyone wanted 2.0 diesels - this was before dieselgate though! Ours had sat about for 6 months with no takers, we snapped it up for a massive discount off a new order one - 7k under list and a further 2k off the forecourt screen price at meadens along with a 3 year service plan, Autoglym paint protection, a towbar and a spare wheel kit swapped with another vehicle in their stock! All thrown in FOC - I didnβt manage to get a full tank of fuel out of them though π they did bung a nice bunch of flowers on the parcel shelf for Mrs Gazza - Iβd have rather had the petrol π€ͺπ»π 9 years and 90k later itβs been a fabulous car. Donβt tell anyone but Ive got a bike with a fenland reg - supplied by a KTM Dealer in Market Deeping Β - we did a high six on completing the deal ππ€ͺπ»π PS, I too would have been disgusted having to drive a vehicle with a Leicestershire reg π€ They are still there and trading.

They were super to deal with, sadly it looks as though they have lost their main dealer franchise - they were head and shoulders (and then some!) above our local dealer in Northampton. It was a good day out to get it tbh - ride down on the train straight to Sway, pick the car up, drove into Lymington to grab some bits from BFG marine (any relation?! π) Then juice it up and road trip home. Had a decent lunch in the pub up the road from Meadens prior to collecting it too π

Yeah, they are jumping on the low mileage and reliability of the car, hike the price up, some mug will pay it.. Crazy.

They are incredibly variable in price.
This one for example is 2017 56k miles yet only Β£10,500.

However the MoT checker shows that it failed it's 1st ever MoT on several different things.
Idiot driver I suppose.

She loves it Rog, little too small for me, also being a 1.2 it has no pull on open roads, nippy round town though and steering is very responsive like a go kart.
Hopefully we can keep what we both have for a while now though as we have had some shitty luck with cars the last year or so.

Problem with small cars is that they are shit, shit to drive and look shit, then when you work out how much you save per month for looking like a big girl, you dream of a mans car again.

For a while I was driving round in a Fiat X19 tiny thing with the same engine as a Fiat 128.
It was a glorious little car, fabulous handling.
Everytime I drove it I had this silly grin on my face !!! It was just pure Fun!!!
I think it was the only car I have ever driven where I used to go up and down the box just to hear the noise.
Italian exuberance stamped all the way through it

Now that's a car you don't see much.
Tin worm issues I believe. I did spot an X1/9 in a lockup in East London just because there happened to be someone there.
But I can't remember last time I saw on on a road.
Very cool car these days for retro fans.

This is a valid argument for sticking with the Saab. MoT next week and I just managed to reset the EML/CEL by pulling the ECU fuse. That was interesting as it also reset the engine management parameters so it accelerates better now as well. It's only a 2.0t so 150bhp but it does go quite well if you encourage it. Interesting to see if that drops the mpg. Main thing is that the EML being on is an MoT fail so it was worth resetting. I recently changed the coil pack and I think the EML was related to the failed coil pack. The previous one which was a Chinese part didn't last long and I ran it until the EML was actually flashing and it was running on 3 cylinders. Did get me back but not ideal. I don't know if a high idle is a fail. It might be, due to emissions test, but luckily the MoT station is right beside where I park the car so it should be feasible to test it cold and the high idle problem doesn't turn up until it has warmed up. Throttle body issue I believe.
