Tully's Yard, that rings a bell. Maybe there had been a spill in the recent past but I couldn't stand the stink (which was acrid and nasty) so I toodled off to Sheffield basin. I expected a frosty welcome because there were several fugees from there at Tully's following a fairly high-profile mass eviction but things were ok enough. In fact no-one ever asked me for mooring fees in 3 months (TBH I didn't enquire if any were chargeable). The smell wasnt from Exol, it was from northfield aluminium, its now closed! The only evictions from Tullys that I know of were Derek and Chris, you do know that Tully once leased the moorings in Sheffield, but that was a long time ago, years before I got there, maybe 30 years ago? Anyhow smell gone so that can only be good. The evictions weren't at Tully's but in the basin, I think the rationale was that the basin was to be given given a huge facelift. As I'm sure you know it's all a bit chocolate-box now. Also I am reminiscing about some 25 years ago.

Right got it, it was when Tully got moved to Rotherham, at that point the whole area around the moorings was really industrial so it explains the smells
