We are lucky in Ellesmere-a fantastic bakery/deli(Vermeulens),a good butcher, decent Co-op & a large Tesco.Just up the road a few miles is an independent supermarket with a butcher, post office card shop, florist, home and garden stuff, stockists of a few local bakeries, plus they do their own home made meals for those who want them.If we realllllly needed to,we could travel 6 or 7 miles to Oswestry where there's a Morrisons Aldi,Lidl,Sainsburys and an M&S food hall. Do they also do a space after a comma?

Its a matter of life choices, Stabby chooses not to bother about welfare, buys a cheapo Tesco chicken, he is not feeding the extended family Stabb I buy as little factory farmed meat as possible, certainly not chicken from Tesco. I'm not quite sure that I understand this post. I very rarely shop at Tesco, maybe three or four times in the last decade. and I have certainly never bought a chicken there. I'm also not sure why you would try to launch an unprovoked personal attack on me when I have given you no reason to do so. Is your period due or something?

Fond memories of tramping up that snow covered hill once you were above the locks to discover an amazing shop where (before it got all posh with the extensive wine cellar and gourmet frozen meals) you'd find knitting wool next to the wellies and rice pudding alongside a washing machine!
eta - that was referring to Stan's

We loooove Stan's.Not the cheapest but so much good stuff. They stock the XXL overstock/slight seconds/end of line bits. (Heron foods do too). We've had 6 spicy bean burgers(there were 8),Thai mini fishcakes-10 when it said 6,mini veg samosas-10 very spicy ones when again the packaging said 6.All these were 99p.They were originally produced for major retailers. We haven't tried the XXL fish or chicken yet,but I'm sure we will.I also love the fact that Stan set up his shop(s) after WW2 & still employs locals of all ages 😁

Local meat and veg - and enormous jars of Tiptree marmalade last time I went.
Know what you mean about employing the "locals of all ages" too!

Apologies Stabby, was distracted by another computer malfunction, must have picked up the wrong end of the stick.

So, let's get this straight, just because I've had the vaccine it means I can't grumble about other effects of Brexit. Bunch of psycophants. Yes Boris, No Boris, three bags full Boris! Boring, repetitive, predictable, bad spelling, yawn. ? It entertained me, Only said it once, I'm quoting nostradamus, intentional apt creative spelling, time for your beddy byes.
