Reported at the weekend that a 4 year old found a significantly important dinosaur fossil footprint on a beach in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The Museum of Wales has expressed interest in this find.
The Welsh police are launching an investigation as to what she was doing on the beach

If its a walk is it a problem? We used to drive out for some of our dog walks, but now we just walk from the boat/house, if stopped by the police their is then no issues

The Welsh assembly are doing themselves no favours either to the folks they "rule" or potential future visitors - which the welsh economy really, really needs. People have long memories and I'd hazard a guess at the first opportunity to get rid, any welsheman with half a brain will vote to do so...alas, it might be too late.

Both the Welsh and Scots appear to be pursuing policies of 'anything to be different to England'.
Their choice and their right no doubt ... but their actions can appear at times petty and mean spirited.
I saw the news story of the young family finding the footprint ... I understood they lived near the beach concerned so nothing to investigate.

As far as I'm aware, the decision to investigate was a police one.
Any links to politicians pressuring the police to investigate would be interesting to see.

I'd be having a go at the parents for letting such a small child go out alone.
It's reckless endangerment at the end of the day fossils or no fossils.

I'll await expert opinion on whether or not the actual foot was found.

I don't think much of the Welsh at the best of times so? The feeling is mutual.

We tend to view the Assembly as politicians who failed to get a place in Westminster!

We all say that they should speak as one voice during this pandemic. The chance of us all understanding the rules would be much increased if it was the same all over the UK. Instead the petty politicians are taking their five minutes of power just because they can.
