We're all fairly friendly ... occasionally wield a large knife to murder prostitutes ... steal the odd boat ... collapse into a hedge in a drunken stupor ... but friendly Rog

From Jim McCarthy's page... Canal boat mural Painted this 10 years ago but just spent a lovely few days living on the boat and touched up the damage it had taken. I was pleased how well it had held up. Posted a year ago www.artstation.com/artwork/0X2BqV

The detail at the bow with heron and canal buildings is wonderful. Now I know where I saw the design most recently - on Apollo Duck, like you. I'd been looking at 2nd hand boats and this one stood out, and a good price for a 57 footer from 2007.

Welcome bobfleming ... used to love the Fast Show ... two new posters in one day is remarkable. And that is the VERY boat I was thinking of ... I wouldn't want it but it is lovely. Rog I also recognised 'The Fast Show' connection as I loved it as well.Saw it live twice & have a couple of DVDs.

I first saw it up for sale a good 3 or 4 months ago and it's disappeared and reappeared a few times over that period. I came across a mention of it, or possibly even a feature on it somewhere else and I've been trying to find where that was. I believe the story was that the owner inherited some money and decided to spend it on the artwork. It must have cost them a pretty penny at the time, but I suspect that, ironically, it's now holding it back. Marvelous as it is, it's not everyone's cup of tea - and quite a handful if you do like it and want to keep it looking that way. As you say, it's a good price for what it is, regardless of the art (assuming there are no major issues).
