There has been discussion about mandating mask wearing in public areas but it didn't happen.
I think in some countries it did happen but probably in limited circumstances not just all the time.
It's all bollocks but apart from that also quite interesting to study behaviour.

Sorry but I donβt believe this, I do motorway miles every day and not once have I seen a person alone in a car wearing a mask, have seen a car of four all wearing masks... I wear a mask in the car when I only have a short journey (couple of miles) between stops/shops just CBA to take it off. A couple of miles between shops in town probably takes ten or fifteen minutes to drive. And how long does it take to remove a face mask and replace it at one's destination? Two or three seconds? This is what I mean, face masks are now being used not for disease prevention but as a symbol of subservience.

but as a symbol of subservience. Or a way to obscure identity. I find it really interesting to consider the whole face mask thing versus the facial recognition cameras. And the beer. In shops the cashiers or robot till attendants have to just use the eyes to judge age. Maybe it is all in the eyes. The eyes have it. Never mind the rest of the face let's just scan the eyes, develop advanced blah blah blah to blah blah blah people and blah blah blah. That'll work. Vaccine in arm = DNA sample. High resolution eye recognition = ID. Ban sunglasses. Rayban shares are a sell sell sell. Buy Tesla stock.

Yes, I don't really know how I can prove this to Dave as I'm not in a position to take photos of other motorists when driving the truck but I too regularly see people walking around Rugby wearing face masks despite the fact that they are not within a hundred yards of another person. I find it hard to believe that Rugby is the only town in which this happens. As I said in the Rugby Thread: "In the rugby today 30 sweating, snarling, spitting men in touching close proximity to each other in the middle of a highly infectious viral pandemic. One gets injured and onto the pitch runs a man wearing a face mask with a bucket. How does that work then?" The players and support team are in a bubble for the 8 weeks of the competition ...tested three times a week and living under massive restrictions ... so much so that many players with young families have had to decline to ... eight weeks away in an effective prison is a lot to ask. Why not read about the restrictions rather than just spouting nonsense ? Rog

Might be that slow on your melody but its about 5 mins max here, the joys of being in Devon in the winter. Summer is a whole different game.

Quite a long read ... haven't digested it all yet but I did think one of it's points is possibly misleading.
It was on the subject of rich countries ordering far more doses of vaccine than they could possibly need or use.
The slant seemed to be that it was caused by greed and selfishness
Britain has far more vaccine ordered than it needs but that was because it wisely ordered everything that looked like it would work.
This had the effect of pumping a large amount of money into development.
The government has already stated that excess will be passed on some at cost or some as aid.

I get fed up with standing at the self-service tills at Morrisons trying to fish out my driving licence or something else with my date of birth on it before they will authorise my alcohol purchase.

I wear a mask to safeguard myself. It would also safeguard others if I had covid, tho at my age I doubt I'd be asymptomatic. I've come out of the shop, jumped on the bike, to find the mask is keeping the cold breeze at bay.

The thing is with mask wearing Mr Stabby some will always go overboard as some always do with everything. For example most men go grey as they get older, but a few resist by any means whatsoever. The other thing is, if you've had to wear a mask at work for hours, occasionally you drive home forgetting you have it on. Rog

Rog No, fair play Rog, I accept that for you, the more time you spend wearing a face mask, the better it is for everybody.

I saw someone wearing a face mask steering narrow boat recently. He had grey hair and looked a bit dodgy almost like it was not in fact his boat. I think the face mask might have been a way of disguising his identity. I think I may know who that was.

Loads of people seem to love the sense of being under oppression and control, every day I see several dozen people driving cars, with no other passengers in the car, who are wearing face masks. I think they call this blind, massively over-exaggerated subservience "Stockholm Syndrome". I'm sure that if Professor Poached Eggs Eyes said that being kicked in the bollocks helped to prevent Covid, people would be approaching you in the street begging you to kick them in the bollocks. Sorry but I donβt believe this, I do motorway miles every day and not once have I seen a person alone in a car wearing a mask, have seen a car of four all wearing masks... Have to be honest & say that we've seen a fair few lone drivers wearing masks. As we're in rural Shropshire & most were older fogeys than us,P reckoned they were wearing them in case they forgot when they got out of the car.π

I had to get the police come out to a neighbour today who had 2 people round. I hope she has been fined and has learnt her lesson. Why can people not follow the rules? It's a nightmare reporting imaginary neighbours, to imaginary police, for having imaginary visitors, so they can get imaginary fines. What a day you've had poor love ... I imagine. Rog
