That Honda is thing of beauty I must admit. Never had a motorcycle myself and not going to get one but that is a nice machine. The model it is derived from (RC30) was a triumph of engineering in the factory and on the track, and might well prove to be the peak of HRC's success. It belongs on the track (and to a museum near you soon). Heres the real deal RC30, brand new in Honda dealers Bradford, sold for £60k before xmas😱 Also 2 slightly used RC30’s at same place... And their successor ....RC45 A great biking era!

You would have to be be crazy to drink it.

I thought my VF 400 fd was pretty sharp, I need to have a go on that VFR so as to be able to make a comparison @gazza . I would treat it sympathetically as there is a 60 mph limit down from Kate’s Cottage to Creg ny Baa. No more three figure speeds making sure l beat an RD 400!

I like the Guzzi. Something about the left-hand exhaust doesn't look quite right though, seems a little out of shape.

And for the cars? This was not a bag of sand, it doesn’t get good gas mileage but it is great fun. Dumped in the corner by the locomotive workshop at Nene Valley railway lest some bellend smack the doors in. This was the previous one, at 140bhp it was 30 down on the current one but still a bloody good car though. Prior to that we had this belter of a car. 125bhp from a Yamaha worked 1.7, a chassis that had Richard Parry Jones magic dust sprinkled on, a gear change like a rifle bolt and seeing as it was good enough for Lieutenant Frank Bullit it was good enough for me! And that ad 👍 note the great escape bike at the end 👌👍 I love Alfas I have had 4 of them a 156 sportswagon, a phase 1 spider, a phase 2 spider and yes a phase 3 spider which was gorgeous and immaculate

I know a guy who has an Alfa, don't know what model but a four-door saloon. Looks lovely - red paint, tan leather interior. He loves it but it isn't his everyday car. Which is just as well because there is always something wrong with it. What a POS.

Paul had a fair few bikes before we met.We then had a cracking cruiser(good size for older folk)-a BMW R1200C.Only got rid of it because we were boating more rather than biking. It was one of the James Bond bikes many moons ago.

The one I do quite like is the older version of the spider. That's okay. Obviously being Italian it's a mafia thing so the build quality will not be very good and materials used probably second rate as well. As for the comfort levels well let's just say it's an Italian car. Actually the Lancia Delta Integrale is quite a cool eyetye car but only for the monetary value and the looks. Very cool looking car that one was. And I suppose the Miura is okay as well but all the other flash stuff is just a nuisance really.

I always thought Jezza and co were a tad over-enthusiastic when extolling the aesthetic virtues of Alfas. But I expect there was a suitable back-hander involved.

I suppose making the center of the front of the car look like an appealing part of the female anatomy works at a base level but is a bit rough and ready and quite easy to see through.
In terms of marketing it has appeal but it seems to be quite limited as they are not one of the more popular brands of car.
That could be on account of being Italian though, to be fair.

I hear Alfa is on the bottom of all the lists - reliability, service, etc.

What a load of Rot! Or did they use better steel after a while? They were all galvanized so rot not a problem I did a bit of time in a garage, my father in law's circa 1980/81. Patching up Fiats etc, often re patching where someone had patched with Black Death and Newspaper. The Italian cars couldn't cope with the winter salt.
