Correct. In the USA they have free speech, that's why the KKK can march down Main St and incite hatred without fear. It would be interesting to know what he wrote but then that would be spreading the muck further, wouldn't it?

He wrote: "The only good Brit soldier is a deed one, burn auld fella, buuuuurn." Not a particularly nice thing to say but it should not be criminal. And bearing in mind that trying to get a reasonable response of of the police about actual crime, is pretty difficult these days, you would think they had better things to do.
Unfortunately the Scottish government are tying themselves in knots trying to reduce internet hate, which is not a bad aim but in doing so, and doing it clumsily, will substantially limit free speech and assist "cancel culture". Which is bad, but not untypical of the fascist SNP.

I wrote a post on here the other day "how many Gerrys did he have to kill go get all those medals". Then I deleted it.
That's the theory anyway.
What is offensive humour and what is illegal that's why I find it interesting.

Its a difficult one but when eg politicians receive anonymous death and rape threats, that is bad and the perpetrators should face some retribution. But when it is a bad taste joke or off the cuff crass semi-joke, no I think it definitely should not be criminal

If the quote you put up is the background to this story then I really do despair. It's a proper "oh dear" moment as far as I'm concerned. Of course if someone had said "the bloke was a Jew parasite no-good chancer" then perhaps it would get more interesting. I didn't realise there was such a thing as anti-britishism. It's definitely good if there is such a thing

You would think they had better things to do such as arresting people walking in a park carrying a Costa coffee cup for "having a picnic".

That seems to be confirmation, as if it were needed, that there is a serious and organised dumbing down of society in general taking place. I suppose idiotisation is quite handy in a way if religion no longer works.
