mrs and lad had them, not for me though, I like them when done the right way, nice and fat with crispy smoked bacon and maple syrup..

That pancake looks more like a tattie scone to me - and should only be found on a full Scottish breakfast!

I remember going to the Happy Eater in Felbridge (Sussex) in the 1980s. My old man called it the Crappy Eater. It turned into a Little Chef after that.
Not sure what it is now as I think Little Chef disappeared also.
The Happy Eater logo was quite funny.

Hated the smell in there as all the food cooked on the same whatever and tasted the same..a real greasy gourmet for those who like that type of food. I remember Happy Eaters but cannot recall ever eating in one

Only eat in a little chef once, on the way back from Lincoln after a date, girl ran a pub, good night, Thought the food was ok, had a monster breakfast.
Can just about remember happy eater, don't think we ever went in one though, my dad wasn't really one for taking us out to eat, or stopping when on the road, bag of sarnies was best we could hope for.
