Not yet give me chance. I’ve just decided what to set it at. I’ve got to program the inverter. Again low voltage cutout. I’ll monitor it for a while, I’d like to turn the inverter to economy mode I think I can do that with the dip switches I’ll go and read the manual.

Well done Kris, looks like a great setup. I've just wired my solar panels into the lithiums, and its great seeing 17A going in even with the sun pretty low in the sky, with only one pair of panels tilted towards the sun (and one pair tilted away). On the longer and sunnier summer days, with both pairs of panels tilted sunwards, I'm not going to need any engine charging at all. Unless I get some sort of low-power aircon type machine.... The solar is the vertical black cable next to the isolator switch. The connections and cables are a bit untidy at the moment. I'm going to tidy them up when I feel sure the connectors will be staying where they are now. imgur.com/a/PFbXvyhI just need to get that Epever comms cable so I can set up the charge controller properly. Its set to gel at the moment, but because the inverter is still using the lead acids, there's not a lot of draw from the lithiums, so they will stay very full unless I turn on lights and fans to try to discharge them a bit. Once the inverter is connected the fridge will prevent the lithiums staying at too high a SoC for too long, but I do wonder about what I would do if I had to leave the boat for say 2 weeks, or a month, once we are all allowed to travel again. |

if there is no (or only tiny) drain then just turn off the panels I reckon it would be worth getting fitted covers for the solar panels. Like a fitted bed sheet. Or a sheet of ply but covers easier to store. This would reduce the theft risk (in theory) and also reduce possibility of impact damage. |

I must say I do like the idea of covers, but on a 50ft boat space is at such a premium that I'd struggle to find a stowage place for them. As it is a I have a major storage challenge coming up- I want to rip out the two parallel bench seats and get a small sofa that you can actually sit comfortably on, but they are full of gear that I have no idea where I am going to stow. |

This seems to be a problem for quite a lot of people on boats.
It's a basic flaw with hidden storage really isn't it.
I've come to the conclusion that the best use of hidden storage is for "blatantly useful things" like spare propellers, a spare set of wheels for the car, an immersion suit, spare coal and lots and lots of rope and paint.
One-off type things. If you start filling up hidden storage with other types of things you end up in trouble really quickly.
And pasta, and tinned mackerel for the End of the World. When that happens armageddon outa here.
