Cough! Me, in Yorkshire? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh, well I must have been close... anyway, what’s the difference? It’s grim up north whether lancs or Yorks. There's a tendency for quite a difference in the character of the respective locals. Too complicated to go into in depth but here's a useful example: Yorkshire folk tend to think they know everything whereas Lancashire folk tend to think they know very little, but are amused by this apparent knowledge. There is of course no difference in the average intelligence, or knowledge, between the two different sets of folk.

When I first moved to Scotland (1981) it was very noticeable that everyone wanted to be working class, whereas in England everyone aspires to be middle class. But I think the whole class thing in Scotland is a bit different, especially in the highlands where there is still a bit of a culture of the local laird and the peasants (now somewhat diluted due to the incoming white settlers). The other thing is that there is as much contrast in attitudes and culture between the North East and Highlands, vs Edinburgh and Glasgow, as there is between Jim and John up in Yorkshire, and folk living in London. Yes the independence movement is mostly fuelled by fairly thick people who just want to paint saltires on their faces and get very drunk in a kilt whilst watching the football. I do know a few intelligent people who support independence, poor things are deluded but then humans, even intelligent ones, are easily deluded. You just have to look at religion to see how people can buy into completely irrational ideas. And there is a definite undertone of anti-English racism. I was hoping that the release of 'Braveheart' corresponded to the rise in popularity of the SNP. But sadly its too much of a stretch. I know a lot of Scots have a low opinion of the English. But I once had a chat with a Scot where we both pissed our pants laughing about the 'Fast Show' Scottish murder investigation sketch.

I wouldn't say a lot Martin. Just a very vocal minority. Still love to watch the Fast Show.

My sainted old Mum suffered vascular dementia, which played havoc with her social skills. Anyone with a Scottish accent was begged to say "There's been a muuurder". Rog

Kramer vs Kramer: "The film explores the psychology and fallout of divorce and touches upon prevailing or emerging social issues such as gender roles, women's rights, fathers' rights, work–life balance." Looking at that picture any odds I'd offer on him having shagged her at some stage would face a substantial cut. The other thing to note is that she wasn't too bad looking when she was young unlike now, when she seems to be on the road towards looking like Angela Merkel.
