I understand approaching 21 million have now had their first injection of either the Oxford AZ or Pfizer vaccine.
The oldest and most vulnerable (by age, occupation or health) have been targeted first.
With the world's press apparently on standby to criticise all actions and responses, I have been surprised by the lack of ANY negative stories associated with being jabbed.
Of my family and friends so far receiving their first dose, I am aware of only two who suffered any negative side effects (slight temperature and general flu like aches for a few hours).
I would be interested to know if you have had the jab and if you experienced any reaction.

Yes we did AZ vaccine last Sunday felt ok Not a good night's sleep and woke Monday with arm ache. After rowing on Monday it all went down hill felt like the life had been sucked out of me ended up going to bed early to try and sleep it off. Lots of muscle aches much the same as happens when I take statins. Tuesday basically written off Wednesday felt bit better Thursday pretty much normal Only downside is I am stuck down at 4k on the rower haven't got the stamina to do 6k but it will come back. C was much the same but not as severe but then I am a bloke so it always will be worse for me π±
Friends who had Pfizer had no side effects at all

I've not had one so can't comment. In general though it seems that adverse reactions are rare. If people are going to develop a second head I guess it will be a longer term thing.
We don't hear much about the Russian Sputnik vaccine here but it seems that it's good, and there are less negative reactions than there are with the ones developed closer to home. Don't expect to read this on the BBC though, anti Russian racism seems to trump everything, including the lives of billions of people in a worldwide pandemic.

No. I did have a slight headache the following day but suspect that was probably because I was on the lookout for anything ...... normally I would not have taken any note of it

Typhoid, yellow fever, hep A, B, C, Cholera, rabies, Pneumonia, measles, mumps, rubella, Diphtheria, shingles, polio..............

Not had my jab yet.
A family friend was quite poorly after her jab, enough for the out of hrs GP service to respond at 3AM - she isn't someone who usually whinges about health problems - all ok about 48hrs later.

I was chatting to a GP friend about this. Her feeling was that those who had previously had Covid (whether symptomatic or not) would likely have a more severe reaction that those who had not had it. This is because the body is already partially primed to recognise the virus and so when it sees the vaccine, which it thinks is the virus, it is off like a shot to fight it. As opposed to someone whose body hasn't seen the virus before, they get a much slower and hence unnoticeable reaction.
Not that any reaction is worse than just a few days feeling grotty / sore arm / temperature. Certainly much less severe than death from COVID!

Where is Foxy with all the tales of woe? "I see on the news reports about over 80βs now breaking COVID lockdown because theyβve had two jabs, Iβm OK jack β fuck you!" "Those are the twats for whom we have ruined the country, hope they all fall over and break their hips" They are being very naughty! However, our country isnβt ruined. Itβs a beautiful place, Ali and me are very much looking forward to getting back out there next month.

A doctor has told me that the AZ vaccine tends to be the one that gives side effects. He also agreed with what you say about those that have had covid being more prone to them. As you say though, no big deal.
