A better use of that money would be to print out masks of her face and get women to wear them so they wouldn’t be the focus of anyone’s sexual desires at any time of the day or night!" Hmmn.............

That'll be me, Foxxy ............................. even rapists and murderers are someone's children.
According to the "equality" that has been forced upon us by the do-gooders (even though we are NOT all equal) everyone should be treated equally - men, women, children, rapists, murderers, disabled, folk of undecided gender .......................
Why should the silly old bag suggest that all men, and only men, should be curfewed? In fairness, everybody should be curfewed, then the police can arrest anyone who is out and about after 6pm on the assumption that they are criminals - which they probably are, notwithstanding that they are disobeying the curfew. ................ and of course no women will be attacked on the streets, so any woman who is attacked must be the victim of domestic abuse which will be much simpler to prove and take to court.
Result - all crims off the streets and locked away, hopefully to be lectured by the Baroness on how to be good citizens.
Welcome to the Baroness's New World Order.
'Equality' absolutely does not require everyone to be treated equally. Quite the opposite actually. Rather than treating everyone equally (one rule for all) everyone is split into groups. There's one rule for one group, one for another, all aimed at achieving the mythical 'equality'. So, if you are put into a 'bad' group (men for example) you should accept that you won't enjoy the freedoms bestowed upon other, more favoured groups. Special rules will apply to you, bad rules as far as you're concerned. Even if you're the perfect, model citizen you must accept the stereotype that, as a man, you're a risk to a harmonious society. There's a certain logic behind this but the logic doesn't stretch very far. For example: if there's a terrorist atrocity carried out by a Muslim the do gooders/ equality brigade will be quick to point out that not all Muslims are terrorists and therefore, special rules shouldn't apply to them. This logic is exactly the opposite of the suggestion that all men should be curfewed. Let's not worry about rank hypocrisy though, the mouthy shouty liberal do gooder equality brigade would be silent, were it not for the existence of hypocrisy.

even there there is some blackand white thinking. I used to have an eye on an escape route when I went out at night in some cities ..... there needs to be an awareness of dodgy areas and trouble avoidance whatever your gender. this report (although not UK) gives a surprising comparison of assaults and violence between the sexes ..... www.cbs.nl/en-gb/news/2018/51/fewer-women-than-men-fall-victim-to-violence ...... I would suggest the problem is more that there is an undercurrent of threat and violence in our society that I think has got progressively worse over the decades. I doubt that any of the measures I have heard on the radio (which is full of it at the moment) education was being suggested but that will only work to a certain degree ..... there are too many that are not really capable of learning how not to drag their knuckles along the ground, let alone anything else. ( either gender, there are some right thick twunts out there male and female) One person being interviewed (from a feminist organisation, I didn't note which one) was suggesting that all girls should get self defence training .... hmmmmm. I suppose that might even the score somewhat but with plenty of cases of female violence against males one wonders how that would pan out. The hospital ran self defence training sessions following a few assaults on the wards....i went on a couple but I dunno if in a crises you'd remember what they taught. I clear light of the day the knowledge sticks but when threatened you'd probably panic... I had a few rather unpleasant episodes on the wards...on one occasion a guy ripped all the curtains from round the beds and tried to attack another patient..the need to keep patients safe sees you act in a way that puts personal safety at risk. I was lucky that he rampaged off past me. I do not go out at night or late afternoon. If I drive, doors locked in the car and when I park, I reverse park under lights and ensure i carry the key when return. In car and drive asap. Its scary to be threatened, guess big bit of me is hoping the white wolf would prove a deterrent should the need arise...she gotta mature a bit more. I love walking miles and would hate freedom to be curtailed. I wouldn't want curfews for men..why punish everyone for the actions of a few?

Although her statement was made with an amount of irony, it wasn’t the best choice of words. She brought herself and statement into the rat pit, which I suspect was her intention anyway. By the way, she used to be a London live aboard boater, I’m not sure if she still is. Lots of boaters voted for her when she stood for the London assembly.
Anyway, the greens are a bunch of loonies generally.

Maybe you agree with naughtyfox that women should wear masks to hide their appearance - maybe you spent too much time in the Middle East...
where on earth do you get that impression?
maybe we should call you the "Maybe Man".

I take it irony and sarcasm are lost on you ... or have you just not bothered to find out what was ACTUALLY said ? Rog
Nobody has suggested that women should not go out after dark, so why suggest that for men, in irony or otherwise? She is just a hysterical bint jumping on a band wagon.
If she suggested that all youths out after dark should be searched she might save 20 times as many lives as this one very sad death.
If you believe otherwise you might like to contemplate why the death of one woman has been given such a load of publicity, while the death of hundreds of boys and young men over the past decade, many of whom were apparently innocent of any deserving behaviour, continues to be unremarkable. There are plenty of statistics to prove that the vast majority of deaths were stabbings of boys and young men.

Some high-ranking police officer did in fact say that women should consider not going out after dark and the statement in the House of Commons was intended as an ironic reaction to it. Have you taken an angry pill lately?

To be fair, she has succeeded in getting the issue talked about. Well done to her for that.

Perhaps there should be a 6pm curfew on Foxes. I find a 24/7/365 curfew works well on Foxes

As I said earlier ... you don't do irony and sarcasm ... so embarrassing. Rog Irony or not, it was a pretty stupid remark that was so obviously going to be used out of context by MSM. I’ve no doubt this was her intention, but to later come out whingeing about the responses she received was idiotic.

It was a very pointed, purposeful remark I'm sure, and has drawn the comments expected from the 'green ink brigade'.. but it has also prompted sensible discussion too.

I love walking miles and would hate freedom to be curtailed. Eh? Where have you been for the past year? I mean because of the actions of others..yeah I know it has this past year due to Covid..but we don't want violence towards folk being another reason to keep us trapped at home.

but it has also prompted sensible discussion too. Rog Really? Twitter is probably the biggest platform for views and discussion on such issues, and looking at it today, there was little that could be described as sensible, and she has done nothing other than ridicule an already ridiculous party. The even more stupid welsh first minister has suggested it’s worth looking at. Fuckin loopy the lot of them. Just get policing back on the streets, on foot, not racing around in tooled up 70 grand cars.
