If you fit that electric doohickey to your new toy then you is going to need a rudder. I may have just the thing. Also I have some un-needed pintles and ting.

Outboard motor would work. Bolt the pod drive onto the end of the instead of the lower unit. I do have an old non working outboard which would do as a donor so may try this. Or sell the boat as I don't need it .
I think probably the latter as having used it today I realised it is actually quite a large unit and rather annoying. Definitely not a nice boat to tow around.
It's a lovely boat for someone with somewhere to keep it but I haven't got this so like you said before towing ... Which is annoying with such a large boat.
Never mind it was nice to get out on the lovely River and I've got someone interested already who will pay what I paid.
So not really a problem.

It is something I considered and has been done by others.
Obvious problem with weather improving is that much of my time will be taken up in pointless excursions in the floating electric beer drinking platform which leaves little time for doing constructive things !
It's terrible but I suppose it's just one of those things.
Someone has to do it.

I had a boat very similar but 13ft and it was beautiful to row but a pain in the ass to tow and too big to lift on and off all the time. Although I had travelled with it on the roof a few times. It was too nice for the primary function of a tender for me, which is working on and painting the outside of the boat above the waterline. So it had to go, now I have one of those foam filled plastic slipper shaped things about 8-9 ft. It’s shit I love it, I liked to see what it’s like with one of those little honda’s on. So anyway I think your better off with something you can lift aboard.

I know about towing as I towed the floating electric beer drinking platform Henley Lechlade Teddington Henley without any real problems. It's 17ft long and does not lift out of water. It think I recall a pic of your boat with a Salters GRP skiff on it which is a very nice rowing boat.
