Morning folks,
Another bloody pump problem which i guess will probably be solved by getting an accumulator tank.Anyway, when i turned on the tap in the galley this morning the wife said that water was being pumped in to the thetford which i wouldnt care about except for the damn thing filling faster. The last pump did not do this but was constantly pi**ing water out the calorifier overflow. Any help appreciated.

Me I'm no plumber ................ but eventually got my system sorted, which means I learned an awful lot about how to do it wrong. Is the pressure of your pump suitable for your system ? I remember thinking Oooooh!! that pump has a higher PSI than that pump and it's only an extra fiver, so I bought the biggest. Wrong ! It was not only higher pressure but also had an adjustable pressure switch set to it's highest setting. Within a month every pressure sensitive item in the system gave trouble. I learned the expensive way that a high flow rate wins over highest pressure every time might give you another thing to check !!

Only guessing but the solution may be the new pump working at a higher pressure, is it possible to turn it down? I gave always had Surflo and at the end if the pump is a adjusting screw and to reduce pressure you just need to back the screw off a bit, half turn at a time. Phil

Thanks for the replys folks, i gave it a bit of a clean [poked the outlet with toothpicks and ear buds then sprayed some wd-40 in to it] it seems to be fine now, i will watch it for a day and report back on the outcome. Cheers, Paul.

Yes, its just one of those small ones that come with the pump. When was the last time it was cleaned. Wondering if muck is getting in and blocking the pressure switch. The fact the toothpicks etc improved things suggests muck. Maybe a strip down and clean.
