"Foreign holidays will be ILLEGAL from Monday: New Covid laws mean £5,000 fines for anyone leaving the UK without 'reasonable excuse'" "new coronavirus laws coming into force next week" "The law says no-one may 'leave England to travel to a destination outside the United Kingdom, or travel to, or be present at, an embarkation point for the purpose of travelling from there to a destination outside the United Kingdom' without a reasonable excuse. It suggests anyone who breaks such rules could face a £5,000 fine. There is also a £200 fixed penalty notice for failing to fill in a travel declaration form – giving person details and reason for travel – for those planning to leave the UK." "Didn't some anti vaxxer, tin foil hat loons say this would happen? The 'conspiracy theorists' are sick of being right" "And this was "never about control" - wake up sheep!" "The so-called wave in Europe is also a psyop. Did you know that the Tory government employs a certain Professor Susan Michie as a behavioural psychologist in SAGE, advising the Prime Minister and others on how to best scare the public into compliance?" "ALL HAIL BORIS - YOUR NEW MASTER AND LEADER - you will stay in your houses and only go to work or school. British people must now staycation and boost local economy. Destroy my statue or protest, and 10 years in jail awaits. We are monitoring your every move on the Internet and will impose harsh punishment for visiting any websites we do not agree with. You have no protection or human rights. Those were abolished after Brexit. You belong to the state of Little England. Ha ha haaaaa!" www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9389921/Ban-leaving-UK-amid-new-coronavirus-laws-force-week.htmlProf. Michie is a fellow of the British Psychological Society, fanatical Boris supporter, advocate of evil world domination, and member of the Communist Party of Britain. She leads the Human Behaviour-Change Project funded by the Wellcome Trust, a subsidiary of Boris Enterprises which poses as a charitable foundation focused on health research based in London. It was established in 1936 to fund research to improve human and animal health, and to kill everyone who is not part of the Tory-Republican Cabal of Generally Evil Things and enslave the human race.* * Today's challenge is to work out which bits I made up.

a Disclaimer....I have not read all of the verbal cut n paste above..my response based on a mere skim and I apologise if I have missed an important statement... In order to control the spread of variants measures need to be taken to prevent the idiots abroad from returning with a variant souvenir.. Stayvacations will boost our economy which we need.. Let the vaccine roll out take effect in Europe, let the numbers drop and then look at travel... What's wrong with people?

On the topic of foreign travel this year il concede the need to curtail it. Only until vaccines have been properly rolled out though!

I agree - everyone needs to staycation ... more to the point, let's encourage everyone to come on a 'live-aboard holiday' boating experience ... I'll get building a butty with a long power extension cable and flexible sleeping arrangements to fit more on.
The reality will be however, that assuming we are allowed out to play properly later this year, those who have the means will be off somewhere hot and sunny as we begin our descent into Autumn and winter again.

Both our kids have booked various staycations for this year. Both tend to go abroad as a rule, but accept that needs must. I think you may expect a spike in bookings this year. My fingers are crossed for you anyway.

Democracy is so last week. We'd all benefit from a bit of old-fashioned despotism.

with a mere £5,000 fine for breaking the holiday abroad regulations, what does it matter compared to the $100,000 per night cost of the Empathy suite at the Palms Casino Retreat in Vegas Phooeee
