Even the heart, soul and lungs of modern day social liberalism has finally admitted that race alone is not the main factor, when comparing the outcomes of different groups. Some of us have been suggesting the same for quite some time, and have been called 'racists' for it. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56585538

I always get racism and haggis confused. My bad.

I always get racism and haggis confused. My bad. Dunno but it must be a bitter pill for modern day social liberals to swallow. For so long, they considered anyone who pointed towards other factors (class, different behavioural norms in different groups etc. etc.) as being drivers for success (or not) as 'denying the problem' and therefore; 'racists'. It seems they may have been mistaken. Perhaps it's now time to start an open dialogue, as to why some groups succeed more than others, without any suggestion that it's anything other than the colour of their skin, being closed down? Anyway, it seems that the rug may have been pulled from under 'black lives matter'. Oh hang on, BBC news just now, this has been described as a 'whitewash'. It didn't take long eh?

Also, such blatant and inappropriate mis-use of punctuation does not lend weight to an argument.

Also, such blatant and inappropriate mis-use of punctuation does not lend weight to an argument. Back in the day, when you had to have a clipped 'perfect English' accent to get a job on t.v., and no doubt many jobs, a great deal of importance was placed on the language used in communications. It had to be technically perfect. Was there ever a greater example of the class system in action? Nowadays, it's generally held that the important thing is that communications are understood by as many people as possible. This is a diminishment of the class system. Progress, in my opinion. It's rather ironic that you choose the class system to support your argument when this very system is one of the factors that keeps the black people you purport to support, firmly in their place.

It just doesn't figure much in my outlook. I do find your brand of hate dressed up as good thinking to be really quite distasteful though.

Not a problem for us,rather for those who are the butt of it.

You can sometimes come across somebody who appears to be very intelligent, but when you get invited to their house it is a veritable untidy and unclean dump, and they offer you coffee from a cracked mug. Gets out hammer to crack a mug, sweeps up dust from towpath, picks out a few items from bin, puts items into plastic bag, seals plastic bag, attaches label saying 'to be deployed in a foxy emergency'.
Job done for now!

You choose to live abroad and benefit from that (presumably).
Stop rubbishing the UK.

Ricco for once I mostly agree with you! I think the report makes a good point that ethnic minorities are bombarded with a media telling them they are victims, no point in trying hard due to the white ceiling etc. But equally, there definitely are some pretty blatant racists around and that still needs work. Meanwhile getting distracted about whether one is using the correct words du jour (person of colour, not black etc) and having to use stupid acronyms like BAME, needs a good slapping.
Yes in this instance I agree with you about BBC bias, the news was full of victim-mentality people stuck in a rut of how hard done by they were. One chap was saying “I don’t see people who look like me in positions of authority”. Which may be true, but how many such positions is he qualified to hold and how many such positions has he applied for?
Fortunately they found a coconut to compile the report!
