Those of you that contributed to cwdf finances bear this in mind.
The number of cancelled subscriptions is not anywhere near the level it might appear, in fact I expect the net contributions may actaully rise. Certainly we have a sustainable amount of income and a significant buffer for rainy days.
Anyone seen a proper set of accounts?

The only way I can see contributions rise now is if he has had a 'special' sponsor who has a stake in the recent events over there.

Oh things have been busy while I have been away. I doubt a lot of those who said they were cancelling did and I suspect the likes of WE would increase their donation to make good any shortfall. There was an accounting done in January I think. However if these are DDs or standing orders then it could take a couple of months to filter through.
However I have a feeling that Daniel could not careless about the finances if that gets a problem someone will find the money.
From the bits I saw and a few email I got it seems he is quite an operator, what I suspect we might have called a spiv in my young days. They would tell you anything to sell a load of claptrap and that is just what I think he did.
I suspect some have learnt never to believe anything he says, particularly where he can just delete the madia, and to be careful of those cronies who appear disaffected but in reality are tucked up nicely.
I hope that someone took a copy of that thread.
I feel very sad, I can guess how much effort everyone put in. From what I saw you all did well.

Of course I am familiar with the reference! I had a message from him this morning saying that despite my protestations he is going to carry on with his strategy which WILL work. I've replied in strong terms but not expecting it to impinge.

I got much the same with a side order of whine over publishing his messages. I don't think he has quite grasped openness and transparency! Re Douglas Adams, which one was the best? Book Original radio series TV Film

Nick watch your back. You are an eloquent educated person and can string words together. You have life's experiences to guide you. Now in my opinion he is someone who is not that well educated and has great problems with words. It could well be that he will see you as a major enemy and threat. I suspect in person you can be charming; whilst I found him gauche and certainly not a person of his word.

I used to have the whole series recorded on reel to reel. I stupidly lent the tapes to someone who bloody moved and took them with him. Bastard !!! not seen him or my tapes since.

To be fair he's taken my fairly strong criticisms with good grace - although totally failed to take them on board! If I get banned then to be honest I won't care much. In fact I wouldn't want to be part of a forum where one gets banned for trying to help the owner out of a pickle. As to me, I can of course be charming, but also, according to the CWDF mods, a MONSTER! I guess it depends on the phase of the moon.

Don"t get me wrong, motivation is a good thing but it can become demotivating for those around you if you use it sel-fish-ly.

Well I suppose it tends to be the one you accessed first, which in my case was the radio series, I read the book first, then listened to the radio series repeated in the 90's on radio 4. I think the radio series captures it spot on, so despite it being my second exposure to it it's my favourite too. The least said about the film the better!

I do not think he has the ability to put a case and argue it, nor does he change is mind. I suspect that if he had been genuine he would have stuck to the things he said on the long thread.
