Over the last few days I have noticed more and more press attention that the Virus came from a lab in China! Biden has ordered that it is investigated and as I have said all along it will be proven in the end that China is responsible for all the deaths from the virus! For me that should mean a total ban on all products from China both selling to them and buying from them what does the board think? No more electronics as its all made in China! That will kill the EV market Not to mention Apple etc. It wont Julian, it may have escaped your notice but all cars shortly have to be sourced from locally made products, this is so that we can export to the EU and vice versa. This is why Tesla is looking at building cars and batteries here and we are funding mega factories for batteries as well.
On a different note I bought some HVO on friday, its 90% cleaner than diesel and has none of the problems of biodiesel or diesel blends that are available 80p a litre and no notable difference in the Van except it smells nicer. we ordered red but white was delivered by accident bonus I was going to put 200 litres in the boat but will use it for van as they assured us that it had no markers in it

One theory is that the virus escaped from the lab due to lax security... That could happen in any country, where the problem lies was all the cover ups etc...if thats how it got into the community.

It will take 3-4 years to gear up for that. Interesting on HVO, good for the boat, but do modern diesels with high pressure injection and DPF run on it? I dont think so, its fine on the early 1.9 up to 2009 but not later. My 1.9 Polo used to be fine on anytying but that was pre PD and CR injector systems.

Yes the stuff from Crown oils is suitable for modern diesels its also got a higher centain value so is allegedly better, the van is most certainly running well on it with plenty of power and a clean exhaust

VW state categorically that CR engines should not run on any form of bio over 10%.

Crown oils have tested it in modern engines and HVO has been tested independently on 2020 cars its like all things car makers dont like change. The stuff I have smells of nothing really very strange stuff and clear as water literally

"I love “we must err on the side of caution”. There’s no caution on wrecking the economy. No caution in giving the jabs to age brackets and illnesses not included in the trials. No caution in giving them to pregnant women and their foetuses. No caution over giving them to children so spike proteins can cluster in little girls’ ovaries, No caution over the effects of masks on schoolchildren, or isolation on the anxious and depressed. No, there is only caution about giving us freedom which is rightfully ours."
"Every time I listen to talkRadio for some news, another cockroach “expert” “scientist”, “doctor” or “professor”, the latest being a specimen called Gupta, has crawled out of the woodwork, with more doomy “I love lockdown” themed stuff."

A few issues to deal with. Previous owner, a builder, had bodged fixes on some rotten windows. Bit of putty, paint over. Terrible job but I've sorted it now. Chimneys at both ends letting in water during storms. I've fixed one of them myself other is waiting for a bloke who's prepared to use mountaineering gear when repointing it, rather than erect scaffolding. Scaffolding very expensive up here, there's no vehicle access. Had water coming in at the bottom of a wall in January during 3 days of heavy rain. Mop and bucket for several hours prevented any damage. Turns out a bloke higher up did some works last year that partially blocked a culvert. Heavy rain lead to an overflow which went down the public steps behind my house. My house is lower than the steps, the water found its way in. Bloke who did the work has refused to fix it but council have dug a hole and opened up the culvert below his property so no more water down since. So, more than a few issues but most of them sorted. Loving it here. Second home owners get a hard time off the locals, they have caused house price inflation. A few were reported to the police when they visited during lockdown. Locals fine with me, made some friends. It's the kind of place where if you forgot to lock your door it wouldn't be much to worry about. Having lived around Manchester most of my life and suffering from more than a few crimes against me this feeling is very liberating. Good news for the most part then. However, I meant are you glad you made the move off the water? I look back on the 7 years I spent living aboard with fondness, but I don't miss it. I suspect that part of the fondness comes from looking back to times when I could live relatively freely compared to today. A time when I could do something without thinking too much, without being met with hordes of mask wearers, sucking the joy out of life in the fearful, dystopian new normal.

Best thing for you would be too buy a boat. It’s great out here on the canals.

Great until an idiot comes along with four hundred horsepower and tries to annihilate you ! Jet skis as well. I don't get them. OK, it's probably great fun going out there, tearing it up, making loads of noise...the first time. I'm not sure why anyone would trail their jet ski 100 miles from Birmingham every weekend, just to do the same thing. Where's the challenge?

It does seem odd.
I would have thought a more interesting challenge would be the BCN on a jet ski.
That could be quite fun dodging between the sofas and the narrow boats.

"I have been re-reading the memoirs of the German WW2 general Guderian. After he and other generals were dismissed by Hitler, he wrote:-
“The result of the ill-feeling thus engendered was the law passed by the Reichstag on April 26th, 1942, which removed the last checks to totalitarian authority in the legislative, executive and judicial spheres. This law (which granted Hitler the right to change law by decree without discussion by the Reichstag) marked the culmination of a long process which had begun with the unfortunate Authorisation Act of March 23rd, 1933; the German dictator was now given complete despotic power. Germany had thus ceased to be a modern state whose structure was based on the rule of law.”
That was happening in Germany 79 years ago, and I never thought, when I first read that passage almost forty years ago, that I would, in 2021, be living in a country which now so closely resembles the Third Reich."
