This is going to be an interesting thread. Yes, it could be - Apartheid is such a horrid concept, and hate speech is absolutely not to be encouraged. It's disturbing how poisoning people en masse in the UK has been suggested by an LBC radio presenter.
Foxxy - you and other eejits have an absolute right to refuse to have the vaccine - just fuck off somewhere quiet where nobody else will be affected by your selfishness.
as for Sarah Vine - good for her, telling it like it is (or like it should be).

I wonder if the Police will be round to issue a fine or prison sentence to Sarah Vine, wife of Michael Gove, for her recent Hate Speech?: "On the same day that O’Grady’s piece was published, we had one Sarah Vine weighing in with her penny’worth, too. “We can’t let idiots who don’t want Covid vaccines hold us hostage” was the title of her screed published in the Daily Mail. “You are stupid. Weapons grade stupid,” is how she addressed those who don’t want to take the Coronavirus vaccine. Who cares what this poisonous Vine thinks, I can hear you ask? But actually, it does matter, because her husband is none other than Michael Gove, the UK government minister currently heading a review into vaccine passports. If Gove’s wife thinks the unvaccinated are “weapons grade stupid” then it hardly gives us confidence that her husband won’t decide to discriminate against them." "Hateful hypocrisy: In hate crime-obsessed Britain, vilifying Covid vaccine ‘refuseniks’ comes with establishment approval We hear so much in woke Britain about ‘hate crime’ and how terrible it is. But right now, we’re in the midst of an extremely nasty campaign against those who don’t wish to take a Covid vaccine and somehow that’s deemed acceptable. “The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one’s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.” From George Orwell’s ‘1984.’ “Selfish idiots.” “Refuseniks.” “Anti-vaxxer loonies.” “Holding the country to ransom.” “A menace to their own health and ours.” “They’re like drink drivers.” Just a few of the insults that have been hurled at Brits who, despite the biggest drug promotion campaign in our history, have decided they don’t wish to take one of the new-on-the-market Covid vaccines. At least Vine didn’t suggest putting poison into ‘refuseniks’ coffee as LBC presenter Shelagh Fogarty did. “I’d literally be in fights with these people (vaccine decliners),” she told a caller. “How do you keep seeing them at work without wanting to poison their coffee.”" Article here: www.rt.com/op-ed/524338-no-vaccine-hate-crime-hypocrisy/One rule for one, one rule for another. The essence of equality.

I heard the awful Lloyd Weber saying that people who do not get a vaccine are the same as drink drivers.
I don't understand this comparison at all.
The geyser is a worthless idiot but he is also successful in his field and well known so his opinions will make a difference.
Sad really.

well, I s'pose someone who knowingly puts others at an increased risk of being infected is in some way similar to someone who knowingly gets into a car after having had a few drinks. The increased risk in either case may be very slight, but no-one can deny that an increased risk is a reasonable assumption .......................... unless of course the refusnik self-isolates until the authorities declare the world to be safe again.

Your relationship with the state changed forever in March 2020 when the government forced you into house arrest and you accepted it.
You are no longer free, you have accepted totalitarianism and those in government know it.
You are now a hostage of your government. You make all the ransom payments demanded of you (stay at home, keep your distance, don’t visit anyone, wear a mask, take a test, take a vaccine, get a vaccine passport) but freedom never fully comes. And you are so demoralised you cheer at the scraps you are given and wait like a helpless creature for the next few scraps.
For anyone under any illusions, this never ends. Ever. Your world changed forever in March 2020 when you gave your freedom away.

Seems a silly argument that you make. Get yourself vaccinated and your safe. Doesn’t matter then who is, or isn’t vaccinated. Yes, there is a tiny risk that you may still contract covid and get really ill or worse. That’s life though isn’t it? A risk.

I'm thinking the vaccine can't be much good if a vaccinated person can still catch Covid from an unvaccinated person.

The bit I don't understand is that if you have had a vaccine then presumably you are protected. If the vaccine does not have this effect then what is the object of the vaccine ? The fact is there will always be escaped mutants. Would you prefer to have an endless routine of medication to deal with escaped mutants or take the risk of your own defences sorting it out? One does wonder how many people are taking the vaccine out of choice and how many people feel that they must take it or be sanctioned.

My belief is the vaccine prevents serious ill health and death from covid ...not prevents catching it.
I understand that data also suggests the vaccine significantly reduces the spread.
To be honest, when I cut myself I was told to get a tetanus shot ... no real idea what's in it or indeed what it does ... I just get the injection, trusting the medical advice.
That's not compulsory either, but I'm not aware of any protests against tetanus.
