Well, there you go, then. The BBC never lies. Bodies piled up high and funeral pyres on the streets of Bolton! But thank the cows that they'e in Lancashire as the Triple Yorkshire Mutant on t'other side of Pennines has just gone berserk! BBC failing to report the booing when the players took a knee before the England game. Pretending that everyone thinks the same way as them, not reporting anything to the contrary. You can say what you like about the BBC but at least they are consistent, and entirely predictable. Fake news. Heard it on Radio 4 Today this morning.

My boat is rusting away and now that Hebden Bridge dry dock is closed I don't know how to get welding work done, or blacking, and I hope my insurance company doesn't insist of a hull survey! Have you considered giving your boat away on the free-items.net site? You may have to pay someone to get rid of it, but probably no more than Β£200.

I don't watch breakfast TV..I had a go during Covid but I just didn't like any of the presenters really Radio ain't much better..All gone downhill since dear ole Terry shed his mortal coils I only watch 'Breakfast' to confirm that the BBC are maintaining their modern day social liberal totalitarianism. And to have a perv at Carol Kirkwood. I don't watch for long though. It's inevitable that every half an hour or so poignant music will signal the introduction of yet another bleeding heart story of some individual that nobody knows. I hit the remote then, over to RT, get some actual news. Prefer Al Jazeera myself .... RT is just as bad (but opposite) as the BBC ...... With added George Galloway ...... All just a bit too Putinesque

Fake news. Heard it on Radio 4 Today this morning. Everything you don't agree with is 'fake news'. Engage brain before posting. Facts are not for agreeing or disagreeing with, they are Facts. WC was spouting shite. As others pointed out.

All just a bit too Putinesque Maybe, but the Keiser report is excellent. It deals with the reality of the financial status quo and likely changes because of political decisions, rather than the biased establishment view. It may be a little too technical for some but manages to inject a fair amount of humour. Not something you might expect from a bloke from New York, but there you go.

Yes he probably would. He might also point out that when the pandemic is looked back at, it will be seen that covid was nowhere near the biggest cause of death over the last decade. Anyway, as I said, Iβm only wondering aloud. Nobody knows where this is going. 1.Main points The number of deaths registered in England and Wales in the week ending 21 May 2021 (Week 20) was 9,860; this was 304 fewer deaths than the previous week (Week 19) and 3.2% below the five-year average (328 fewer deaths).
The number of deaths registered in England in the week ending 21 May 2021 (Week 20) was 9,244; this was 268 fewer deaths than the previous week (Week 19) and 3.0% below the five-year average (282 fewer deaths).
The number of deaths registered in Wales in the week ending 21 May 2021 (Week 20) was 605; this was 35 fewer deaths than the previous week (Week 19) and 4.7% below the five-year average (30 fewer deaths).www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/bulletins/deathsregisteredweeklyinenglandandwalesprovisional/weekending21may2021Ah yes lies, damned lies and statistics! The 5 year average includes over 1 year of a lot of covid deaths, so the 5 year average at the moment is higher than say the 5 year average taken a couple of years ago. So it can hardly be surprising that, with most people at risk of dying from CV either dead or protected from death by the vaccine, the death rate has fallen to normal. And due to the 5 year death rate being abnormally high at the moment, the "5 year normal" is higher than "this week's normal".
There is no doubt that as things stand the major risk of a lot of deaths / NHS being overwhelmed has past, (thanks to the majority community-spirited people who had the vaccine, no thanks to the sociopathic loners who refused to have the vaccine) but there is of course the worry that a new variant will be vaccine-resistant hence the caution. But as far as I know Boris is still expecting all measures to be removed by 21st June isn't he?

Take your tablet and download the app. Then you can continue ordering from the table at weatherspoons and possibly other chains. We use the app at Wetherspoons ... but there are other pubs that are independents, like the Swan at Stone yesterday. Rog The Swan usually has a really good range of beers on.A drinkers' pub.π»

I suspect the real indicators currently are hospital occupancy (well down and falling) and deaths (very, very low). The vaccine roll out is working so new cases/cases rising aren't perhaps as significant if they're not swamping hospitals or killing people. But we shall see ... not long to wait now. By the way Trina ... I knew the owner of a PROPER bosting boat would know about the Swan Rog

You know, the ones that account for the majority of deaths? You canβt mean younger people, as not many of them have died.

Your new avatar is very confusing @froggy ... I see it and think it's the fox and begin to skim by. By the way, I've been gathering sanding discs, rollers, brushes, tack rags, masking tape, paint etc. etc. in readiness for the big cabin side paint job. Been chatting to a pal, Tony/Tiny about doing the job and decided we're giving it a go Rog
