As it happens that particular boat will not be coming on CRT water anyway due to changed circumstances but I noticed that CRT have attempted to deal with this loophole in the new t&c in the sense that they may verify information given.
It's obviously an option to be used by portable boats but then why does the system allow someone to make a payment of £850 ? There should be a maximum either boat size or maximum payment to stop what I did.
I know this is loophole seeking but I was doing it in an attempt to PAY for a license not in an attempt to circumvent the requirement to pay for a license !
All very silly really.

when my insurance renews, it remains the same policy number so I presume I will just need to update the end date in 'my boats'... I'll not lose sleep over it This is exactly how it’s worked for as long as I’ve been licensing the boat. I just update the end date when I renew, and they randomly check insurance details across their customer base regularly. It was exactly the same this year as it’s always been.
