Iβve got a new switch to wire into my hydraulic pumps electrics. On opening it up I need some help on the wiring hereβs a photo

Depend on whether the pump has control circuitry or is just fed power π

If it's just power Live into 1 link 2&3 and 4 feeds the pump, N&E direct to pump. If there is control circuitry it's a whole different ball game. Does the green button lock on (I suspect it doesn't) if it doesn't then it will only power the pump whilst you have your finger on it.

as above .... if you need it to latch on when you press (if there is no control circuitry) you will need to add a relay

Thanks for the replyβs. The pump is just fed power and yes I would like it to latch on. If there is a better suited switch out there of a similar size, let me. Know please.

If it's 230v adding a relay will suffice, I can draw it out when I get home unless JohnV beats me to it. It's very simple just add a relay and a few bits of wire. Press green to start and emergency button to stop.

If its's 230v I think there is a Schneider switch (two buttons) with a zero volt trip built in, latching on and off but I don't think it comes in a case, I think it was bare. RS might do it, I will have a look. Failing that just use a relay (you can still just use a relay even if it's 12 or 24 volt) as long as it can handle the current. Loddon will probably beat me to drawing out the circuit as I would have to photograph it, download to the laptop, upload to a hosting site then download to Thunderboat,....... Yes I know there are probably easier ways but I was an analogue not a logic engineer

To be honest a domestic 20amp DP switch would do the job for less than a fiver.

Sorry Some more info is probably needed. The switch I have is waterproof so that is going to be. On the deck with the pump mounted in the engine room. They will be connected through a gland fitting in the deck. So a relay in this switch is probably the best solution, so a drawing of the circuit would be appreciated who ever is able to draw it. Thanks for the help.
