I do get pissed off with sick lists riding on pavements.It.Is.Not.Legal. Walking round a corner in Bearwood a few years ago,I got hit by a pavement sick list-a policeman(real one not a plastic one).Told copper exactly what I thought & that he was illegal on a pavement. His reply was a very limp that the roads were too dangerous.Luckily, just a few bruises for me but I wasn't best pleased.😡 oh some coppers can do that, its allowed....by them. Like the pillock and sorry to bring in the C word in as its gets on my ttis now, but just tonight i popped in the shop and to see a copper in there with no mask on. I wonder why theer is less and less respect for them.

The other day I was toodling down the pavement when I heard a polite voice behind say 'excuse me' to find an e-scooterist who then passed by, not quickly. So I had mixed feelings, its illegal yes but this individual did it politely and not dangerously. Best get used to it because the offence is not much enforced and nor will it be. There are worse things that happen (although Pete Doherty was recently fined for riding on the pavement by one set of coppers after having been previously advised not to be on the road by another patrol).
The roads are dangerous mostly because of arsehole car drivers (although you only have to watch any London junction for five minutes to realise how many kamikaze cyclists there are). You don't hear much about cyclists who killed someone (does happen occasionally though) or the lorry that was written off following a collision with a cyclist.
And yes, the cops frequently fail to live up to the standards we expect, but remember that crap as they are things would be considerably worse without them.

Cyclists down here who go hell for leather are a dangerous menace, there r cycle paths but they run parallel to pedestrian footpaths which are shared by just about everyone else. The influx of tourists makes walking unpleasant. On several occasions I've been nearly cut up. There has been a few fatal collisions between bikes and cars on the roads. The council have just felled a row of Ash trees(they claim die back) to make another cycle path. The cynical think it just to convenient that every tree had die back where they routed another cycle path. I'm all for cycles if folks want to use them ..its the speed freaks that get me especially in areas that are shared use. It isn't safe on the roads over the Gower for groups of cyclists. Too much traffic. People have all got to learn to respect other road/pavement users.

It is perfectly safe to cycle at 15 to 20mph, provided the bikes are well maintained and the cyclist is careful. Not safe to do so on shared cycle paths where othe users are kiddies and pedestrians. The cyclist is always going to come off worse in a collision. As for causing a lorry to be written off, I assume we are in the realms of fantasy here. Every road user has to be aware of his surroundings and take responsibility for his actions. Lumping all cyclist's actions together as though they all behave the same is just as ludicrous as calling every pure Anglo saxon racist.

Everyone should be nice to each other. The existential threat that cyclists pose to motorised traffic is very real.

Apart from the odd idiot corroning off an elderly walker and flying off the towpath and into the rotating propeller of a reversing narrowboat ..... probably yes

Also, er... 'corroning' ?
