Thermostats often switch small currents so volt drop is not usually a problem, however I don’t know about your boiler, so if you don’t get a better answer than mine, I would phone Alde and check with them. if you want to comply with the iso standards then, from memory, the min conductor size is 1mm2 for single cables and reduced to 0.75mm2 for sheathed multi core cables. The iso was the one current when I fitted out about 10 years ago, the iso standard has been updated since, but I don’t know if cable sizes have changed. Thats the best I can offer.

I don't know anything about heating thermostats as have never used one but might it be worth looking at a wireless one?

Be aware that in small cable sizes the ISOs specify the minimum number of strands and cable of the same conductor CCSA were available (maybe still are) that are the correct size but with insufficient strands. If it's a 292x series Alde the stat only switches the pump so only a few amps, maybe 2 amps top. If it's a 30xx series, I haven't a clue what it switches.
