The ongoing problems with Calor show no signs of improvement on the Macclesfield, and I understand supplies to my home base are very restricted and causing problems.
I'm fortunate so far as I replaced a bottle in early May before the problems fully surfaced, so my need is not currently pressing, but this must be a real worry for live aboards in particular.
Anybody aware of developments ?

At work We get a decent service from Flogas, 6x 18kg FLT on a weekly delivery along with a 47kg every 8-10 weeks - not a lot of help if you want a casual waterside delivery though!
Shell filling stations often have a plentiful supply of Calor along with places like the Range - again you need a motor to take advantage of this, Iβm not sure how many cabbies would be thrilled with hauling an LPG cylinder about?!
Still not as bad as old Batesy π€ͺππ£π£

My theory was that certain less than scrupulous resellers of calor had cottoned on to how easy it is to do DIY refills.
One of the coal boats was paying Β£15 for empty calor bottles. Hmmm

I know quaysider lugged a 13kg Flogas from a garden centre to his boat ... he assures me the bottles are interchangeable with Calor and I've not heard a loud explosion yet Rog

Iβm not sure how many cabbies would be thrilled with hauling an LPG cylinder about?! Most cabbies would not give a tinker's cuss so long as you were paying.

Stone Marina had some in the other day when we were there if anyone is heading that way. I've now got 2 full and 1 on so to speak. They should see my season out unless I come across a boat in in need and end up giving one away.

Fuel boat Halsall had gas last weekend. Bollington Wharf the home base of Four Counties Fuels certainly didn't this week. They're tearing their hair out ... told it's a bottle shortage and couldn't get 48 empty bottles collected. But I'll take it as a positive sign that things are getting back to normal, thanks. Rog

Shortage is caused by an increase(uptick lol) in staycations isnβt it? Caravans etc using more.

No Covid 5 years ago when there was such a shortage of 4.5kg cylinders I got rinsed for a refill and ended up getting a Camping Gaz 907 to make sure we didnβt run out with a nipper onboard.... thunderboat.boards.net/thread/575/on-cwdf
