Some people hate the scouse accent. I quite like it personally. That is, unless they start moaning or playing the victim. Which is quite often.

We were in a pub near Bristol the other week I found the accent difficult to say the least but liked it

Scouse is quite nice but just a varient on a stew...
Ricco sometimes seems to blame other groups of defined people for everything that is wrong - just occasionally mind........

You see the 'Victims' shout on social media a fair bit in the football world, i thought it stemmed from the Hillsborough disaster, but people shouting it claim it doesn't.
I'm just curious what Ricco thinks?

We could of course pretend that people, everywhere, are all exactly the same. Victimhood: Hillsborough has already been mentioned. Folk from Liverpool often think that they bore the brunt of the changes under Thatcher. While they didn't do great under her other areas did far worse. The north east, south Yorkshire spring to mind. Folk from those areas tend to have moved on more than our Scouse friends. Having said this I usually like folk from Liverpool. They are often warm and friendly, in contrast to us Mancs who apart from being arrogant, are often surly and unwelcoming to outsiders. As long as we avoid any discussions around Hillsborough or politics, all is well. Oh, and it's best not to bring Heysel into any conversation. Not that there's any direct link between Heysel and Hillsborough. It often takes moving away to recognise traits in yourself and those around you.

bang on about mancs being grumpy sods, worked with some a few years ago and used to saty up near old trafford, grumpy lot who wouldn't give you the time of the day, when in liverpool its a different thing, although i wouldn't trust either manc or scouse.

Yep. Italians though, are like Scousers on steroids. You couldn't wish to meet more warm and friendly people. I was on my own once, friend went home because his mum died. A group of Italians included me in everything they did, spoke in my language (I don't speak Italian), even those who struggled a bit with English. They were all cool dudes, in the prime of health, I was a typical English bloke approaching middle age but there were no 'we're better than you' vibes, which you'd certainly get if it had been a group of young northerners. Beautiful people, inside and out. Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them though. And then, at the other end of the scale we have Canadians, and New Zealanders. If you wish to spend time in an environment of true misery best to skip Manchester, head out to South Africa.

Scousers have a tendency to damage hedges too.
