I burn around 1000 calories each day kayaking and walking so 3 meals aren't enough for me. I don't snack during the day but in the evening I often have a munch on something. I always keep a good stock of biscuits and chocolate bars in. When it's a wine night it's either peanuts of Aldi's version of Doritos.
Sometimes though, I don't fancy chocolate or biscuits. Instead I'll cut up some cabbage and eat it raw or peel 2 or 3 carrots. I'm not keen on either of these cooked, but just love them raw.
What are your favourite healthy snacks?

Not de beaked duck eggs then? Heads have more nutrition than eggs and are easier to eat without cooking. Plus not all ducks lay eggs.

Quite partial to a belvita bar, I've been led to believe they are reasonably healthy.

I really like baby cucumbers for snacking.Obviously I'd prefer a gooey cream cake, but the cucumbers are rather tasty.Thinking of Ricco's raw cabbage-I always put some in my salads along with raw cauliflower, raw carrots & raw mushrooms.*plus the usual salady stuff.

hate raw or even cooked celery..
I like carrots, sliced peppers n a dip...I try to have the yogurt/mint and cucumber one Also oat cakes with cheese spread popcorn, crisps
did used to eat those supposedly healthy snack bars but they r no good for me....when i took part in the great muffin trial all my food photographed and documented. I wore a blood testing kit that automatically monitored blood/body response to the food consumed. Anyway results revealed that these healthy snack bars are a defo no no..they scored 0. In fact they were the only food items to be a zero.

CruditΓ©s with hummus. Typically carrot, cucumber, red pepper and yes celery cut into strips and dipped in hummus. Well I think the hummus is fairly healthy, yes quite oily but itβs good oil I think.

I mean an extra 1,000, over and above what I would burn if I lived a mostly sedentary life. I've never checked my average total calorie intake but it wouldn't surprise me if it approached 4,000.
