According to my Fitbit we did over 21,000 steps yesterday (10.15 miles) and I used 4116 calories ... happen as well because I eat all sorts of stuff I shouldn't Rog

I like all the bad stuff, peanuts, crisps, cold meats.

I ask as I'd expect 10 miles walking to be around 1200-2500 calories, depending on speed and gradient.

I like all the bad stuff, peanuts, crisps, cold meats. cream teas, Cambazola, Blue Stilton, Cashel Blue, Harrogate Yorkshire Blue, Hot buttered scones, "Proper" Chicken Kievs, Fish and Chips, Bangers and mash, Home made Cauliflower cheese, Home made cheesy leek bake, ................................................... I'm fading away !!!

I ask as I'd expect 10 miles walking to be around 1200-2500 calories, depending on speed and gradient. They're only a rough guide ... a toy really. Since I stopped running I feel I need to push myself to ensure I'm doing plenty of walking ... it's so easy to kid yourself how active you've been. The fitbit gives me a rough guide and monitors how much exercise I've done each day ... useful for me ... and I don't want the new knee op, so it's important I keep this one working as long and as hard as I can. The calories used is in the 24 hour period ... again just a guide based on info like gender, weight etc. There are more expensive gadgets where you can input food and drink as well as exercise and get much more reliable data ... the type of thing used by Pro athletes ... but the basic is fine for me Rog

Just been to the little bakers at Kidsgrove, next door to the launderette ... had a cheese and bacon turnover and a fresh cream scone.

Mozzarella and tomato salad. Buffalo moz. vine toms, add ground pepper, fresh basil and olive oil (just a bit). Best prepared an hour or two in advance to allow the various flavours to migrate. But I'm trying to lose a few pounds, unlike all you supermen.

If anyone says raw celery I may vomit. Funny you should say that, whilst I rarely eat just celery, I cant help eating half of what i chop up for inclusion in a recipe.. Shedloads of salt, obviously, so not that healthy then!
