Best chips and egg I had was a few years back when I bought duck eggs at the end of a garden and made chips in a shallow pan that evening..........mmmm!

I am a recent fanatic of duck eggs! I’m sure I have told everyone about a recent recipe of poached duck egg, Parma ham and asparagus with a wholegrain mustard and honey dressing. In local parlance it was cowing lush!
If I ever find myself in the condemned cell my last meal request will be for home made chips (with pointy ends) and sunny side up fried eggs,, at least two, I wont be bothered about cholesterol at that point. The pointy ended chips are to satisfying stab the runny yolk.
Do you think I’ve thought about this a bit?
DISCLAIMER: I have no reason to believe I will end up on Death Row anytime soon!

Paul loved it so much,we have to now buy duck eggs when we see them.😋😋 I'll always remember the look on the old man's face in Waitrose in Maidenhead late 90s. being of a well to do disposition and incredibly high net worth I quite often shop in Waitrose. Get away from the NQOCD problems. Anyway I went in there looking rather unkempt and he was buying gressingham ducklings. I said all innocently "there are loads of them on the River". He seemed perturbed. Perhaps taken aback by the queen's English spoken by someone who does not know what a washing machine is. Funny moment that was. But to be fair the farmed ducklings are probably a lot tastier and the eggs probably don't have tiny little birds in them.

I’m entertaining tomorrow (get her!!) its a friend I go to silversmithing evening classes with. We both cook. My daughter can’t stand her, calls her condescending, I can see where she’s coming from but we get on ok, hence the invite.. HOWEVER I am now in full “show off” mode!’ Menu is: Thai Prawn cakes with home made dipping sauce and pickled cucumber, Chicken and ham pie, seasonal veg, new potatoes, summer pudding with clotted cream and/or homemade lemon meringue ice cream, local cheese board. Pretentious moi?

Pretentious moi? That sounds belting ! Summer pudding and cream and still cheeses to peck at ... I'd think I'd died and gone to Harrogate Hope your mate is suitably impressed. Rog
