We filled our three freezers at home months ago and have been rotating stuff in them since then. Not sure how long we could go without buying food but probably a couple of months. Not panic buying as we did it gradually..... Also have four months of meds in stock and these are also rotated. We've always got plenty (mainly bargain buys) lurking in the freezer. One of the main concerns for us is meds for swmbo. It's a long process but I order my monthly meds on the first date that I can so they are ready for collection about a week before I need them. If you keep doing this after 6 months you can be about a month in hand. Of course this all depends on how the meds need storing and how long they will keep for. Its taken two years to get where I am but I know I have a supply to hand.

I've just counted and there are 1,497 tins of mackerel in the store room.
Oh dear.

I think so but it might be swimming pool mackerel. They do not specify it on the container.

Canal Pike doesn't really have the same charm s Sea Bass.. River or Lake Pike is an excellent fish to eat. Canal Pike is usually to muddy. We had a lake on my previous moorings that was fed from a chalk spring the Pike from there were excellent baked.

Ah, therein lies the rub
I probably only carry about a weeks worth of beer but usually have a decent store of wine and a spare bottle of Woods Navy Rum
Freezer normally has a fair bit in stock thanks to my habit of making largish quantities of stews etc and freezing individual portions.
The main stores are dry goods and tinned goods, I just grabbed a few extra litres offiltered milk and one or two treats a couple of days before the first lockdown and then had enough to keep me going quite comfortably for a couple of months (and still having decent stock levels afterwards) the shortest supplies were medicines but like Nemesis I had a stock pile built up and my prescriprions are for two months at a time not the normal one.
(my sister is certain that I have always been a survivalist from way before it became trendy.

I take it this topic is just for fun? The chances of there being real food shortages are similar to the chances of Johnv agreeing with Ross.
