Digging through boxes of odds and ends before throwing stuff out and came across this oddball historic item
these were the plugs I used in my ex racing mark VIII competition Itom
If you were using it to it's maximum revs (or occasionally a tad more ) you had to use these, the con rods used to stretch slightly and with an ordinary plug you could demolish a piston crown (14,000 rpm ....... not bad for an engine from the 50's ) Itom used to tell you that if you repeatedly revved to in excess of 12,500 you should change your con rod every season ........ well advanced for it's day, roller bearing big end and needle roller small end !!!

I remember from 750 motor club days in the mid 60's if you used the side valve Austin 7 engine instead of the Reliant engine, the centre two pistons needed 20 thou machined off the crowns to allow for distortion of the 2 bearing crankshaft at high rpm!

An old friend of mine used to race a Windle Imp classic sidecar, absoloutely bonkers. Took me up the A43 dual carridgeway from Brackley before the road was open to the public. I have never been so scared in my life travelling that quick six inches off the tarmac

I once accepted the offer of a ride in a kneeler (driver an ex 500cc sidecar champion) It was absolutely terrifying ...... never, never, never, ever again

These are the plugs my KTM 200 uses Such a farty little electrode - makes the B8ES in the old RD250LC look positively archaic!

Jesus Christ that's ugly. But the bike looks good enough to lick. Hope you find the blurb.
