I eat a lot of sausages and it never did me any harm. A primary cause of bowel cancer is the consumption of processed meat which you probably won't find out about till just before your guts start eating you. Keep laughing.

Anyway, covid will get us all before the cancer does. I wonder how some people survive this deadly world we live in.

I know it's a tad morbid and not everyone who eats one will die as a result but have you ever met anyone with bowel cancer? It really puts a crimp on your day, as it were. In other news, after deciding to adopt a high(er) fibre diet a while ago I found it surprising to note what emerged...it was difficult to say for sure without a closer exam than I felt like making but it sure did look like partially undigested meat to me. Sorry but we are past breakfast time.

Porkus sausages made in Todmorden from locally grown organic gristle, various varieties eg, latest were pork and black pudding, some were saved and chopped up, added to spaghetti for dinner today. Only get them when on offer at the co-op, this week's find was porkus dry cured bacon.
Most of what we eat is veggie, a lot of fruit and veg coming out of the garden at the moment. Courgettes, chard, dwarf beans, french beans, runner beans, rocket and other salad leaves, Aztec broccoli, kale, raspberries, 3 varieties of goosegogs, whitecurrants, blackcurrants, rhubarb. Got a glut at the moment so lots of jam and chutney made, (we finished our last jar from last year last week) a lot being frozen to have over winter. Lots of eggs too, from 4 hens.

I've got a pair of human g nome projects.
Sorry that's a family joke about the kids might be a bit awkward to decipher.

Sorry but we are past breakfast time. Jane's Father died of bowel cancer at 67 years. My father died of pancreatic cancer at 83 years. My Mum died of heart failure at 80 years. Jane's Mum died of old age at 90 years ... but sadly for her last five years didn't recognise anyone (dementia). We're all going to die whether or not we eat sausages or processed foods. I understand some people like to err on the side of caution ... but the grim reaper awaits us all ... we're here for a good time not a long time. Rog

My relatives tend to die from getting too old, killing themselves or aircraft accidents.
Strangely the ones who end up really old and I mean over 100 are in the same family as the ones who kill themselves.
Bit of an odd one that!
I remember talking to a geyser who cut his wrists but was saved. Far from the "grim reaper" exsanguination was a pleasant warm feeling.

I'm probably just a bit grumpy because in the interests of wanting to lose weight I've banned red meat (amongst other things) from the diet. I also have a growing horror of most processed foods of any kind. The more you read, etc. It's nothing but poison.

I'm on target to get to Milford for my Sunday lunch at the Wimpy although unfortunately a limited menu because of Covid means they aren't serving Big Benders at the moment. So it looks like a half-pounder with cheese will be the thing, which will be suitably unhealthy.

I'm at Penkridge so probably four hours from Milford by boat although I could of course always ride there on the Clockwork Banana if I CBA to move tomorrow. Otherwise if I set off around 09:00 then I should be there for early afternoon, then on to Tixall Wide to do some donuts.
