Nothing wrong with horse, first had a horse steak in Belgium about 55 years ago, it was lush, wouldn't hesitate to have horse if the opportunity presented itself Phil

Never tried it but I have no intrinsic prejudice. Once there was half a shark on the hook at the butchers. Shark steak rocks.

Steak is only unhealthy if your cholesterol levels are already high but something depends on what the animal was fed on. One of the issues with beef production is that modified soya (as in genetically modified) is a common staple (and also where that soya was produced is an alarming subject in itself). Horse meat is generally considered to be of a better quality than the best of anything bovine, but if it's in your processed lasagne as is seemingly probable, the real issue is that it sure didn't pass through any kind of quality control. Probably passed through a few other things though... I have eaten horse in a stew back in 1970 in Poland. Not at the family farm, but in a village café.It tasted fine.I had no idea it was horse til' after I'd eaten it My late father was from Poland. He emigrated sometime around 1939 and spent some time in Africa and Italy before deciding to settle in England. I've never been there. Been saying I'll for sometime for ages - it may well be the next jaunt.
