I've finally pulled my finger out this morning and replaced the old bank with the new one...
Somewhere in the bowels on my brain is a memory of needing to "do" something with the smartgauge to tell it the bank has changed. I cant for the life of me find the leaflet.
Does it matter or will it just figure it out after a few cycles?
I've gone from a 420 bank at c20 to a 480 at c20 - (although the new ones pretend on paper to be 135 each but that's at the c100 rate)... I just don't get why they can't just all be stated at the came C thingy.

There is a factory reset process in the manual:
1. Disconnect the power feed to SmartGauge (maybe just pull the fuses out – you did fit them didn’t you?). 2. Press both the Volts and Status buttons and keep them pressed. 3. Reapply power, still keeping the buttons pressed. 4. SmartGauge will display the software revision as usual. Keep the buttons pressed. 5. SmartGauge will display the battery model revision as usual. Keep the buttons pressed. 6. The display will go blank. 7. Remove your fingers from the buttons. 8. SmartGauge will flash “Fr” (Factory reset). 9. SmartGauge will completely reset its internals to the factory defaults.
That said even if you don’t reset, it will become accustomed to your new batteries after a few cycles.

Cheers Nick - yes I did fit a fuse (just the one though as I only monitor the big bank not the engine battery)... that sounds easier than faffing with removing the connections like I remember doing last time... I've no idea where I put the manual.
I've put the charger on to it's max setting (90amp I think) so the new ones can start life as best as possible. Oh to be one of the lithium elite club *sighs*

I've finally pulled my finger out this morning I hope you managed to get it back in ok! Those 135ah blocks are heavy blighters. Last time I messed around with heavy stuff like that without mechanical advantage I pulled a muscle. Nasty. Be careful especially with fingers.

This morning it's not just the back but my right leg (I suppose sciatica) - Today, I'm going to walk up to the scrap yard and check if they'll take the old batteries in exchange for some gin money and if so, tomorrow, I'll walk them (on a trolley) 1 at a time there and re-stock the bar. Not at the same time .
The new ones have been on charge now so when we leave on Tuesday we'll see how much better they fair.
I've just taken a booking for a couple of nights with a gran and 6 year old grandson so need to also have a wander into town to get a waterproof sheet - just in case!

For the gran or the kid? best get 2. Scrap is a decent price at the moment, just got £55 for a black builders bucket full of copper and brass bits.

This seems to be bordering on racism as well as assumption I think it should be reported.

Speaking of racism, I've been 'pikeying' today with the old batteries... it seemed a better idea than the reality - There's a scrap yard quite close to the marina here... quite close in a car... NOT lugging 120kg of lead on a wonky wheeled trolled along the A51 Of course it would have been less tiring if I'd NOT taken the first entry to the "skip store" which didn't allow me to get to the main part of the yard... grrrr Anyway - £45 quid back in the gin fund today.

Talking of scuttling about with dubious stuff on a trolley, Skylight Circus were once donated a Safe "on permanent loan" about 20 years ago by a council dept across the town centre. Popped over with a sack truck, wheeled it through the town centre, not a peep out of anyone. Surprised we weren't challenged at all.
