Taking on dogless ‘s thread generation topic suggestion earlier today, I thought Id start the ball rolling with an actual boat related thread, Unusual for this forum nowadays I know!🙄 Last week, I picked up a new boat in a deal I couldn't resist, for me to work on and keep me busy during my retirement, Its a 62ft Barry Hawkins Northwich Tug complete with rivets and all the other pretentious bumpth associated with that model. Hopefully, I can convert it from a dirty owd knacker to a fabulous, desirable, authentic looking tug before I run out of money!🙄 Needs quite a bit of work on paintwork, electrics, might fit diesel central heating plus a stove in the back cabin and the like, Its been laid up for a few years judging by the amount of spiders cobwebs I had to fight thro to see things and is very basically fitted. I will be posting a few pics as things take shape over next year or so in the vain hope that it'll be of interest to someone other than myself. First job for this air-brained, money pump of an idea is lifting it out and putting it on blocks for a few weeks for a blacking session and general look round /clean up next weekend. Thats all for now!

Will you be adding scum bling? No scum bling on this as its going to be matt varnished oak, but definitely a full load of roses and castle to doors and boatman’s cabin

Speaking of scum bling, I came across 2 tins of scumble paint, base and top coat, if you want it, old hedge, new boat, wherever. Happy to post, unless you are passing this way sometime, about 20 mins from M61 Milnrow. Both tins seem about 3 parts full.

Its actually a 73hp Beta thats been stripped of its travelpack but it doesn't look bad in its own engineroom for a ‘new style’ engine!

I was going to ask "is it a Beta?" in my next question.
The wonders of content generation.

I could definately give them a good home Jim cheers… I’ll give you a shout when I’m over that way in the near future. 👍

Pretentious fake rivets can be okay yes.
Barry Hawkins I think he was half way down a flight of narrow locks somewhere. Decent quality boats to be fair. Not to everyone's taste but pretty well put together.

Be interesting to see the skin tank size for an engine that big, anything less than 18sqft ain't gonna be big enough.

Its cruised the whole system (length allowing) including the Thames, Trent and Ribble link over the last 15 years so somehow doubt its going to be an issue!🙂
