There you go, I didn't know about this, I am learning all the time! I guess the point of my original post is I don't want to fall foul of the regulations and cause any problems for myself in the future. Very few do. You will receive lots of warnings. Sometimes they're wrong and need correcting but if not just improve on what your doing. Getting into serious trouble takes a lot of time and effort. Don't worry about it. Took them 4 years to take/steal/S8 Tony's boat and he was not even registered. If you cruise around the network not overstaying you won't have any issues what so ever. It's often said that of you talk to them they are understanding if issues arise. Honestly, don't worry about it. Yes, you have to be a serious piss-taker to come onto the enforcement radar.

Whatever you do, and however hard you try, there's a better than a 50/50 chance you'll fall foul of C&RT's so-called "Customer and Licence Support Team" at some point. The 'goal posts' get moved at the whim of the 'team' members, . . and the duties, obligations, and the statutory constraints imposed on this irretrievably corrupt 'Trust' under the applicable British Waterways and Transport Acts are shirked, ignored, or abused as and when it is convenient or expedient so to do.

Honestly, don't worry about it. sorry this post isn’t factually correct and is a false assumption made by lots of people. The new terms and conditions give themselves powers to remove “problem.” Boats much quicker and without going in front of a judge. I believe these new T&C’s will be thrown out legally the first time they come under proper scrutiny. As what judiciary would allow an unelected body usurp legislation with contract law? The fact is most of the problems on the waterways, come from inept/corrupt management over many years. Ps so much for sitting on the fence, but I thought some one should at least point out there’s another side to every story. Personally the aspect of crt’s behaviour I find most appalling is the way they pick on elderly or vulnerable people, the people who are most deserving of there help get it the least. They call themselves a well being charity, it’s some kind of sick joke. They definately do not have livaboard boaters interests at heart.

The boat that C&RT stole, by way of the all too frequent abuse of the boat removal powers they enjoy - and I use that word advisedly - under Section 8 of the 1983 Act, was not 'registered' simply because the C&RT refused, unlawfully, to register it under Section 6 of the BW Act 1971, insisting that boat registration under the 1971 Act was superseded by their fraudulent extra-statutory "Rivers only Licence".

I'd be surprised if more than a handful of forum members on here and CWDF have had any dealings with CRT at all beyond paying the licence fee, uploading BSS and insurance details etc.

River navigations are subject to a public right of navigation dating back to 'time immemorial'. No Navigation Authority, nor any Court, has the authority or powers to 'licence' or forbid the use of English navigable rivers by any boat.
