the situation is simple and was totally predictable. Mr Stabby has explained it quite simply many times.
The wages of drivers has been forced to an artificially low level by use of European drivers prepared to work for low wages.
As a result the demographic of lorry drivers is of an aging group obviously apart from the odd (very odd)well groomed Yorkie Muncher. Many other drivers have gone to other work where pay was better.
Add to that a very low number of people entering the industry for the last couple of years because of Covid problems (with training/examinations).
The cost of transportation has to rise to a level where it can pay sufficiently high wages to attract the number of drivers needed. either by training more or attracting back to the industry those who have left because of the poor wages.
The whole situation is due to the drive to the bottom of pricing and the use of cheap labour/imports etc.
If, as a society, you are going to stand on your own two feet then wage fairness is an essential ingredient.

I did notice Waitrose in Henley had run out of organic sulphite free sun dried tomatoes which I thought was pretty shocking. Ali’s tomatoes are a sight to behold. You should see my plums!

Apple trees don't root all that well into a substrate of dead whores and scrotes.

come on buddy, no need for that. He's still angry he lost a bet with me and owed me 50p. I generously waived it, as I am quite a nice person. If I lived in the UK I'd buy lots of freezers and lots of ice cream - before the shops run out and there's none to buy for a year or two. Yes. You are a nice guy.

I was slightly surprised he didn't just call you a cunt rather than doing the coded version.

Festivals will cause 'significant' surge in Covid cases, scientist warns as music fans head to Reading after thousands caught virus at Latitude and Boardmasters A total of 90,000 people will attend the Reading festival over the weekend Boardmasters in Cornwall is suspected of being linked to 4,700 infections Music festivals and schools returning will lead to a 'significant surge' in Covid-19 infections causing concerns for medics, an expert advising the Government has said. A rise in cases as a result is 'realistic' and will happen 'despite best efforts' amid the spread of the dominant and more transmissible Delta variant of coronavirus Music lovers today began arriving at Reading Festival amid fears it could become a super-spreader event.
You have to ask yourself, is it worth the risk? How many people will Reading Festival make seriously ill with Covid. How about all those who die from Covid spread at Reading Festival? Who will we point the finger at then? Not me, that's for sure, I'm keeping well away. That's because I am responsible and know that Covid is a KILLER.
Anyone attending the festival should not travel afterwards by public transport, but should walk home and isolate themselves for 10 days whilst wearing two face masks and a badge that says "I could be infected".And this has what exactly to do with food shortages in supermarkets?

Been shopping today ... plenty staff ... full shelfs ... smiling people without masks (majority - seem to see less masks with each passing day).
We've been invited back to do our Christmas temp jobs in retail, starting 1 October (which I'm surprised but happy about).
I read posts here and they simply don't reflect the reality I see every day.

Been shopping today in Tesco Extra Barnstaple, fairly busy and everyone wearing masks, didnt notice any stock problems apart from no Marmite XO. Guess people, even the grockles, are more considerate of others down here.

Rog Must have been a very special shop, majority of people smiling. Whenever I go in a shop I see majority either looking miserable, or just having a neutral expression.

Probably the weird northerner cheerfully saying 'Eyup' to everyone, encourages the smiles ... whether through pity or not I couldn't say Rog
