I'm after a boat. Any sort of boat.
Anyone have anything interesting lying about?
It's that time again.
Have spotted a neglected and abandoned Salters skiff half full of water wanting a lot of work and wondering about towing it away.
It's under a bush tied up with a bit of blue string.
Well actually it is under a bush tied up with a bit of blue string and also now secured with a 6ft length of stainless steel chain but no padlock.

Be careful, round our way farmers often have a wreck of a boat tied up with blue string, simply to reach parts of their land on the other side of the river much quicker than tedious drive looking for a suitable bridge Phil

It is basically dumped but being a Salters skiff it's actually a really nice item well worth saving and restoring. GRP boats are getting to be a problem in terms of disposal. I will keep an eye on it and nick it if it looks like it wants nicking.

Good idea, when we were on the Broads I had no end of dinghies that I found and had no way of identifying the owners, you know boats that had come loose and ending up in the reeds on tidal rivers, so I gave them a good home Phil

on my wanders I very often see sad little boats that look unloved and abandoned... they may not be of course, they may just belong to scruffy urks who don't lavish care..... Thing, as Phil says are not always as they appear.

One up on the trent that could do with a loving home, bit wet at the minute though what with it being sunk.
